(August 19, 2026) CEDIA Expo 2026 is just over a week away, and one of the show’s more interesting home cinema demos is already starting to take shape. Tomorrow, August 20, at 1 pm Eastern, AV NIRVANA Live will host a special preview of Sound Room 10 (SR10), bringing together representatives from the brands behind the room to talk through the technologies, design thinking, and system goals that attendees will experience in Denver. The participating companies, ASCENDO, AcustiMOD, Christie, madVR Labs, Moovia, Seymour-Screen Excellence, and StormAudio, are returning after last year’s widely praised $1M plus private cinema demo, but this year’s mission is notably different.
Rather than chasing the upper limits of residential theater spending, SR10 is being framed around scalability. That doesn’t mean the room is suddenly aiming low. Far from it. The idea is to show how premium home cinema technologies, the kind of engineering typically associated with flagship private theaters, can be applied across a broader range of luxury residential projects. For integrators, that should make SR10 more than a flashy demo room. It’s positioned as a working example of how high-performance audio, projection, video processing, acoustics, seating, and screen design can come together without requiring last year’s million-dollar price tag.
The audio system in SR 10 will be a 9.8.4 channel arrangement built around Ascendo Immersive Audio speakers, AcustiMOD, and StormAudio. Ascendo will debut its new DSP4-6602 DSP and amplifier, showcase THE18 SUB Passive Vented, and unveil a new audio innovation on day one of the show. StormAudio will provide its Fusion 20 receiver, bringing surround processing and amplification together in a single box designed for premium residential theaters. That combination is poised to give attendees an experience built around high output speakers, heavy bass capability, and tightly integrated processing.
AcustiMOD was brought on board to handle the room’s acoustic architecture, which could prove to be one of the most important parts of the story. Built on the heritage of Officina Acustica, AcustiMOD focuses on modular acoustic design, giving integrators a repeatable, engineered way to deliver more predictable room performance for luxury projects. That’s a critical piece of any theater demo, because speakers and electronics can only do so much if the room is fighting back.
On the video side, Christie and Seymour-Screen Excellence will work together to physically deliver an image. Christie projection technology will anchor the picture, with the room promising strong contrast, rich color, and 4K clarity. Seymour-Screen Excellence will provide its reference Enlightor-Neo acoustically transparent, multi-format screen, which brings a long list of theater-friendly features, including motorized masking, integrated black backing, concealed tab tensioning, deep velvet borders, and no minimum seating distance. Ultimately, that means the room can maintain proper speaker placement behind the image while giving attendees the presentation flexibility that serious cinemas demand.
madVR Labs is once again in the fold, handling image processing with its Envy Core MK2. That brings several key technologies into SR10, including madVR’s HDR dynamic tone mapping, HDMI 2.1 8K input support, AI powered upscaling, advanced screen masking automation, and Dynamic Subtitle Overlay. That last feature is especially timely, as madVR recently launched DSO for Envy owners. Having already displayed the technology at Audio Advice Live several weeks ago, madVR is looking to CEDIA for access to dealers and installers. For a room built around projection, masking, and multi-format presentation, Envy’s ability to manage HDR, scaling, subtitles, and screen behavior should be a major part of the demo’s polish.
With Moovia, the demo experience will extend beyond speakers and screens. The company is planning to showcase its Marbella media sofa, designed and manufactured in Germany, with a focus on long-term comfort, customization, and style. Moovia’s new app will also be part of the story, giving integrators and clients a more refined way to control and automate the seating experience through a tactile user interface.
AV NIRVANA Live’s Sound Room 10 preview will stream tomorrow, August 20, at 1 pm Eastern, with representatives from ASCENDO, AcustiMOD, Christie, madVR Labs, Moovia, Seymour-Screen Excellence, and StormAudio. Sound Room 10 will be open during CEDIA Expo 2026 in Denver. You can watch and ask questions via the link below. It can also be viewed on Facebook.
