I will not have the wood horn, but a JBL 2380A. I hope to have the celestion axi2050 for all 5 channels. For the center... c urgently Inam looking at a 3 box setup WHW with celestion ftr12-3070c woofers in boxes to each side of a celestion axi2050 in a jbl2380 theater horn (imported from Japan as this one is very rare...it has a round reinforced external throat to support heavy compmdrivers).

Been quite awhile since I was here...some updates...we have moved to a rental townhouse while we prepare to put our house up for sale. Once it isa sold we will be ready to move to either Europe or South Korea (in that order). Meanwhile due to space I have been working on setting up my system again as a single pair of K402MEHs. The f20 sub horns are in the garage and will be going up for sale...if they do not sell... I will strip the drivers, and keep the amps and walk away from them (I hate to do that, but the reality is unknown as to how much room my next setup will have. I also will be selling my Marantz AV8805a...if I do not sell it, then I will take it with us and use it with a transformer until I find a replacement and either trade it i with the transformer or sell it with the transformer.

Update I have 4 custom made Roadie cases being made for the trip when we do a ocean household move. I also have ordered my new Crossover... A Xilica Solaro FR!-D with 64x64 Dante and also some analog inputs and outputs for the time being. The intention is to sell the Denafrips Athena and Pontus 2, and replace them with a pair of Holo Dacs with with or without the preamp module built in and run them after the Xilica. On the source of the Xilica have a Denafrips Gaia for digital source selection.

By going this way my Ladder DACs (vertically run with a stereo DAC per channel) stay in use for HT and Stereo, Down the road I will decide what AVP I want to get with DANTE and also run Dante power amps for surround, center and possibly heights. If I return to a sub I will most like get a European model or two (all depends on the construction and size of the Home we buy and can afford.

On the AV side side... I will most likely move to a 3 laser UST projector.

Good to hear from you and best wishes for a smooth move when that time comes. I’ve greatly appreciated your posts from Mexico and some of the fabulous custom work done there and hope whichever part of the globe you next call home will afford you the same time and opportunities for more!

Thank you. The big reason for the move is to be closer to my wifes sister in the Netherlands, and also being at 6000' is hard on both of our health. We found this out when we traveled to South Korea earlier this year and also to the UK last month...we def need sea level and a moderate temperature (South Korea does not have a moderate temp and would def require staying inside for 2 moths a year with the AC on 24/7).

I will post some pics as new equipment and the center channel when it is completed.

Today I finally got around to a idea I had thought about to make my end table look nicer (IMO), and more stable. I changed from the tripod to 6mm althread rods that use some cone spacers to locate the reel and the CF Tubing...also i am using what is left of my spike equipment feet which had a spacer with a angle cut on one side and are threaded for 6mm. This is the same setup i used for my AV Rack before and i figured a flexi rack end table might be even more stable. It is! I am waiting on some more allthread rods which should be in on Tuesday...so I will complete the other one then.

One modification I want to do is remove the bottom reel and use some 1' thick Parota Hard wood circles about 6" larger than the reel with the 6 holes lining up for the althread and then a recessed bottom for the allthread washer and nuts.

The final step will be when I take one pair of my horns in to have them touched up... I want to have the reels painted to match.

Wood always looks better to me, so I like the idea.
Thinking out loud … what if the table top had only the flat reel portion sandwiched between wood and glass … requires a lot of mods … height, how to fasten … probably not worth it.

Is althread a brand name for a particular brand of threaded rods? I zoomed on the photo and looked for thread on the vertical rods, but can’t see it. Maybe due to resolution?
Anyway, it looks much nicer than I would picture a threaded rod to look like.

I had thought about wood under the top reel and my wife shot it down...she felt it would be to unstable due to the weight on top vs the bottom pieces...hence why I am going with the parota hardwood bases. Allthread is a name for threaded rod (not sure if it is a brand or just a term). The reason you cannot see the allthread is it is inside of the CF tubing, which I used as it allows a smaller diameter allthread rod, and give a more finished look to me of the end tables. What i did was basically adopt the "Flexi Rack" design and implement it into the reel end tables. Flexy Racks are a inexpensive design that virtually anyone can use as it only requires wood, allthread rods, washers, and nuts. My last rack that I converted to a TV Stand is also also a Flexi Rack. The last Flexi Rack and Flexi end tables, I experimented with smaller diameter allthread and larger diameter CF tubing...to cut down on weight and move away from the industrial look...not sure if it is for everyone, but it fits my current needs.
