(June 5, 2026) Klipsch and Onkyo are heading back to Hollywood.
The two Premium Audio Company brands have announced a new promotional partnership with Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic fantasy action film, The Odyssey, which arrives exclusively in IMAX theaters on July 17, 2026. And while movie tie-ins are hardly new, this latest collaboration continues a notable strategy for the audio brands: leveraging major entertainment franchises to reach audiences far beyond traditional home theater and hi-fi circles.
As part of the agreement, Klipsch and Onkyo will serve as the exclusive promotional audio partners for the film, which is already shaping up to be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2026. Written and directed by Nolan, The Odyssey adapts Homer's ancient Greek epic, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, chronicling his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The cast also includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and Samantha Morton.
The project carries significant weight for movie fans. Not only is it Nolan's first feature since the Oscar-winning success of Oppenheimer, but The Odyssey is also reportedly the first film ever shot entirely using IMAX cameras, utilizing newly developed technology created specifically for the production. With a reported budget of approximately $250 million, it is widely believed to be the most expensive film of Nolan's career.
For Klipsch and Onkyo, however, the story extends beyond the movie itself.
This isn't the first time the brands have aligned themselves with major entertainment properties. In recent years, we've seen similar partnerships tied to the Jurassic World franchise as well as Marvel's X-Men '97. While these collaborations often include co-branded promotions, sweepstakes, social campaigns, and retail visibility, they also serve a larger purpose: introducing premium audio products to consumers who might never otherwise wander into a specialty audio showroom or home theater forum.
It's a smart approach.
Films like The Odyssey are exactly the kind of large-scale cinematic productions that remind viewers why presentation matters. Nolan, in particular, has built a reputation for championing premium theatrical formats and emphasizing the importance of sound and image quality as part of the storytelling process. That philosophy aligns closely with the messaging both audio brands have been pushing for decades.
"We're incredibly excited to debut our biggest global collaboration around one of the most anticipated cinematic events in years," said Dave Gans, Global Vice President of Marketing at Premium Audio Company. "For nearly 80 years, Klipsch and Onkyo have perfected the art of immersive entertainment, engineering products designed to place audiences directly in the center of the action. The Odyssey is the ultimate showcase for that experience."
