(June 4, 2026). Making its world debut at High End Vienna 2026, the new Klipsch Rebellion Premium Bookshelf Loudspeaker brings something entirely new to the company's Heritage Series lineup: a compact bookshelf speaker. And in true Klipsch fashion, the company didn't start with a blank sheet of paper. Instead, it reached deep into its archives and resurrected a design from yesteryear.

Yes, the Rebellion traces its roots to Paul W. Klipsch's original H8 loudspeaker, a model so rare that only 16 examples were ever produced. Nearly seven decades later, that speaker's conceptual design has been reimagined as a modern Heritage Series speaker, complete with hand-built construction in Hope, Arkansas, and the kind of fit and finish Heritage fans have come to expect.

"For years, Heritage fans have been asking for a bookshelf option, and there was no more appropriate way to start than with an original PWK design," said Andy Spalla, Klipsch Senior Product Manager. "Klipsch carries forward the legacy of Heritage Series category-defining loudspeakers proudly made in the USA."

Despite its relatively compact footprint, Rebellion remains unmistakably Klipsch.

The two-way design pairs a new K-702 tweeter with Klipsch's K-703 Tractrix horn with patented Mumps technology, all engineered to deliver the high efficiency and dynamic capability the company is known for. A newly developed K-81-EP woofer handles bass duties, while a rear Tractrix flare port improves airflow and reduces unwanted port noise. The goal is straightforward: preserve the immediacy, dynamics, and effortless presentation that define Heritage series speakers in a form factor that fits where larger Heritage models simply exist. Rebellion opens the door to listeners who love that Heritage aesthetic and sound philosophy but don't necessarily have room for refrigerator-sized speakers at home.

As with other Heritage models, craftsmanship is front and center. Each pair is grain-matched using veneer from the same timber source, creating mirrored speaker pairs with unique wood patterns. Standard finishes include American Walnut and Black Ash, while a special Tigerwood finish joins the lineup as part of Klipsch's broader 80th anniversary celebration.

The Klipsch Rebellion is scheduled to arrive in North America next month with a suggested retail price of $2,599 per pair. Dedicated KS-24 stands will be available separately. Visitors to High End Vienna can experience the Rebellion firsthand and view an original H8, along with other artifacts on loan from the Klipsch Museum of Audio History, at Booth 1.61/1.62 through June 7.
