(June 4, 2026) Cambridge Audio is giving one of its more interesting modern audio machines a new look.
The company has announced a Midnight Black edition of the Evo One, its all-in-one streaming music system that combines a streamer, amp, and speaker system into a single chassis. The new finish joins an existing walnut version, giving buyers a darker, more contemporary option while leaving the hardware and feature set unchanged.
Since launching in 2024, the Evo One has carved out a unique place in the audio market. It's not quite a traditional wireless speaker, not quite a soundbar, and certainly not a separates system. Instead, it occupies a fresh category of premium one-box solutions designed to deliver serious hi-fi performance without filling a room with multiple components and speaker cables.
Under the hood, the Evo One is an ambitious piece of engineering. The system packs 14 drivers powered by 700 watts of Class D amplification, including four silk dome tweeters, four midrange drivers, and six long-throw woofers. The goal is room-filling sound with enough scale and output to compete with traditional stereo systems while maintaining the simplicity of a single-box design.
Streaming remains one of the Evo One's biggest strengths. Cambridge Audio's StreamMagic platform supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Roon Ready, UPnP, Internet Radio, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Bluetooth 5.1. The company notes that additional services, including Spotify Lossless support, QPlay, Qobuz Connect, and Amazon Music integration, have been added since launch through over-the-air updates.
Through the StreamMagic app, users can also optimize playback based on speaker placement within a room, while a seven-band EQ allows further tuning and custom presets.
Connectivity is equally comprehensive. HDMI eARC allows the Evo One to double as a TV audio solution, while optical, auxiliary, USB, Ethernet, and a built-in moving-magnet phono stage provide flexibility for everything from turntables to gaming systems and network audio.
The Cambridge Audio Evo One Midnight is available now alongside the original walnut finish version for $1,799.
