Yesterday's listening selections. I'm visiting my daughter and using my old system that that I gave to them to use. Music is being streamed from my tablet via bluetooth to a bluetooth/stereo adapter which is connected one of the RX-v1800'S input. I'm still amazed how good those original PSB Alpha's sound.

Thought of this album last night and had to wait till morning so I could crank it up like it deserves to be heard.

The Envy Corps, an Iowa band, self released It Culls You in 2011. I saw them perform it at Omaha's Waiting Room shortly afterward and was blown away by how tight they were, and right on with all of the vocals and harmonies - you'll see what I mean if you give a listen. Great attention to detail with the arranging and production, and although there is definite influence by UK bands, Radiohead & the like, these guys make it their own. They have more recent releases, but this one fits my "gotta hear it" pocket just perfectly.

Also, on YouTube, a video record in the studio...

Kudos to Mike Mogis, engineer & producer, ARC in Omaha, and that unmistakable indie Omaha sound.

I finally had some time to go for a walk and listen to a couple of bands posted here recently Including this one:

@AudiocRaver , Qobuz didn’t have the album you posted but I dug this one.

This was a really good listen on the ride to work this morning. I’d call it rock before blues. And it rocked.

Guess I need to dust, lol.
Been working on a car audio upgrade. It’s still a work in progress, but much better than it was.

Last album for today is something relatively new from blues guitarist and singer, Ally Venable.

Yesterday's listening selections after having the system dialed in again. The first track on the first selection, Texas Flood is very heavy with deep bass that a lot of floorstanders and towers have trouble reaching. Its a great track to check how well the subs are integrated with the main speakers. So far, I really like the sound I was able to achieve..

Thank you. All you see there except for the subs, center channel speaker, and bluray player has been purchased used. Its just a collection of modest equipment.
