Interesting fact about calibration files done by Cross-Spectrum Acoustics when purchasing a UMIK-2 from them:

"In addition these files include the MiniDSP manufacturer’s sensitivity value for use with Room EQ Wizard. Please note that the sensitivity value is provided for customer convenience and that Cross-Spectrum Acoustics makes no claims or warranty to the accuracy of the sensitivity value."

Can anyone offer an explanation for that?

MiniDSP calibration files include a sensitivity figure, as well as any frequency response corrections. This is read by REW.

I believe Cross-Spectrum Acoustics are saying they are just passing these calibrations along from the manufacturer, and they have not been verified or altered.

Interestingly, I have found using a certified Sound Level Calibrator that my UMIC-2 calibration is about 1 dB off at 94 dB SPL, and 2 dB off at 114 dB SPL. I asked MiniDSP about this, but got no satisfaction.

What I wonder is why CSA is only calibrating relative response, and not also absolute response.

Dear all, in fact it seems that on my PC REW does not read the sens factor correctly. On reloading the UMIK2 cal file, it responds: "as the microphone could not be detected, the sens factor is ignored". But Windows 10 and Asioflex do recognize the Umik2. Now is find my measurements ~7,5 db too low. How can i solve the problem?

Especially as REW does ask for the cal file only once and if between sessions the sens factor gets lost, it does not raise an alarm.

rgds, Holger
