The Official 2017 MLB Thread

Yes, and Houston is the wrong team to be playing to try and get things turned around. It looks like a tough pitching matchup today.

Can't catch a break!!!

I had to look: 11 losses in 14 Games... SEVEN of those 11 losses were games that were lost by one run.

Wow. That's some BAD luck! :dontknow:

I'm sure you'll break out of it and still be above .500 so not too bad. My only concern if I were you is that Boston goes out and trades for a bunch of pieces that strengthens an already solid roster.

Disaster yesterday.

DISASTER!!!

Disaster for the both of our teams today! :gah:

It's bad. REALLY bad. Baltimore went up 3-0 today and quickly barfed up 5 runs the next inning.

wow

I see KC had another rough one! phew

Yes sir and with our ace on the mound. Just when I think they've maybe turned it around. WHAMMY! Breaking my heart again.

We lost our #1 starter Danny Duffy today for 6-8 weeks with an oblique strain. I think that might just be the final straw. :gah:

Ugh.

Jeff... that isn't good... losing a key pitcher for any length of time is bad. :-/

Yeah, the current roster won't look the same here in a month or so. It was a good run though and we've got a couple flags that aren't going anywhere.

I still don't think KC is done, yet. Too much baseball to be played.

I wish I felt the same. Losing our #1 was the nail.

Yeah. Losing that #1 is going to sting.

O's barfed again last night... these are MUST WIN games against the Yankees and Red Sox. But allowing 5 or 6 runs in the first few innings isn't going to cut it!

Well... there's a heart beat. Baltimore notched its 11th straight winning home series vs the Yankees. That number may not mean much outside of this area....but certainly not anything I'm used to seeing.

Huge series versus the Red Sox coming up. Huge!

O's offense is showing signs of life... they lit up a very Red Sox starter last night. Unfortunately, our hottest bat is back on the DL (Wellington Castillo) after taking a foul ball to the "groin area" (as the news reports). Gotta get these games while the games can be gotten!

I hope you guys can stay in it Todd. We get Cleveland and Houston next. Houston is absolutely rolling teams right now!

Word is Zach Britton is throwing long toss... hopefully back by the end of June. If they can just hang on without him as closer, it will be a miracle.

Houston.

OH MY!!!!! They posted 39 runs against the Twins in three games.

Maybe they'll cool off some...have you thought about going out and seeing them in action?

I saw Houston play in Baltimore last season.. back to back games... and the Astros scored something like 23 runs. It was entirely depressing. No amount of beer can sooth the soul in that kind of situation (didn't help that it was blistering hot).

I have not seen them play but would like to. Yeah, they made Minnesota look like a minor league team. They are loaded and look very focused this year.

O's took another one last night... back in second place. One more win to take the series against the Red Sox would be huge. I'm still not feeling like the O's are out of the woods yet... hopefully this isn't a small bump in luck.

This iteration of the Red Sox is looking really good... so many talented young players. Boston and New York reload so easily. It's crazy! Their minor leagues (not to mention timely trades) just seem to work year-in and year-out.

I've been a little under the weather over the past week, but I think I might have to drag myself over to Camden for the game tomorrow. Weather is perfect - should be a great crowd.

It looks like our bats are starting to come to life although playing the Padres certainly helps. Todd, I think the O's have had about enough of Mr. Judge and the Yankees. That guy is on a tear!

I'm crying in my beer... it's looking like the season is in serious peril :-(.

Yankees just stomped!

On the bright side it looks like you get to play the White Sox. They've REALLY been struggling so you should recover nicely. I think the problem the O's are going to have is keeping pace for one of those wild card spots.

Ack! Not a big MLB fan, been watching the NCAA tournament (which has had some LONG games) but always want the Os (or anyone) over the Yankees.

Well... Judge hit one from Yankee Stadium to New Jersey yesterday. Close to 500 ft, and sent the Orioles out of the Bronx with their tail between their legs. Every other day a starter can't make it out of the first or second inning without giving up 4 or 5 runs. Hopefully Machado can get back in the line up in Chicago.

This past month as been a train wreck. Hopefully they can get rolling in Chicago... because then they have to deal with the Cardinals, Indians, Rays, and Toronto.
