I was worried, Jeff, about KC coming into town. Not sure how the last three days happened, but Baltimore just keeps hanging around...

Yes, I didn't really envision the series playing out like that but props to your O's for taking care of business. The worst part is Cleveland of course decided to lose right along with us. So, I guess that's both a good or bad thing depending on your perspective? We could have made up some ground but at the same time we didn't lose any. I think you guys still have a chance and I think the Royals will also be ok. There's still a lot of games to be played. Should be a fun ride.

KC, unfortunately, ran into some hot bats. O's have been so streaky, it's impossible to predict when they'll cool. Pitching is still a big concern.

The race for KC will be decided by those divisional games... both teams, actually, have to to take care of business within their divisions.

I sure would like to hit Camden Yards in late September with a sweatshirt on!

Yes sir! On a side note I can't believe Houston didn't add any pitching. There's some reports out there that behind closed doors the players were pretty irate.

Houston went conservative, a bit too conservative in their trades.. We do need some help. :)

Did Houston have good trade pieces?

I'm shocked they didn't add some stronger middle relief, at the minimum.

I'll tell you what... Altuve... that guy is a stud! Did you see his average last month? Something like .490??? Second best for a month in MLB history?

per espn,
"...ace Dallas Keuchel is highly disappointed the team couldn't do more at the trade deadline.

"I mean, I'm not going to lie, disappointment is a little bit of an understatement," Keuchel said Tuesday, a day after the trade deadline. "I feel like a bunch of teams really bolstered their rosters for the long haul and for a huge playoff push, and us just kind of staying pat was really disappointing to myself.""

I agree with him.. Astros should have done more than just get Francisco Liriano

Astros lost to the Rays for the third straight loss.

The bullpen was once again a culprit in the Astros' 5-3 loss to the Rays.

Happy Friday guys. Here is something to bring a smile to you guys.

:)

The Houston Astros used a nine-run fourth inning and hit five homers en route to a 16-7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. What a game.

Always good to beat those Blue-jays!

A's trade Yonder Alonso to Mariners

Here is something you don't see often.

The rare bench-clearing walk!

Jose Siri bench-clearing walk to end 39-game hit streak.

Billy Hamilton makes UNBELIEVABLE catch!!!

The Royals are back to their streaky ways....OOF!

from espn,

"Bryce Harper hyperextended his left knee when he slipped on a wet first base Saturday night, dealing a potentially devastating blow to the National League East-leading Nationals."

That is bush league to the max. The kid had a 39-game hit streak... they throw at him and then walk him. wow

So we have seven teams with 60 to 62 wins vying for the wild card?? This is getting intense!

Interesting. But I'm a fan of the printed ticket. I like to keep them...

The Royals really need to start winning some games. Horrible showing last night against the Indians. OOF!

Twinkies still in the hunt. And I have to post this clip of Byron Buxton's inside the park home run which I saw live!
