The Official 2017 MLB Thread

Astros took a hit losing Carlos Carrera for 6 to 8 weeks. He'll be back, but not good.

Looks like the Orioles and Astros are doing the trade dance. Baltimore is dangling it's All-Star closer on the trade market... he had one of the great seasons in MLB history last year. I'm expecting the mother load if he gets traded.

Come on Astros! ;-))

Losing Carlos Correa will hurt that is for sure.

However, the Astros has a deep roster, with both Alex Bregman and Marwin Gonzalez capable of stepping in to play shortstop on a consistent basis.

As for the trade, time will tell. :)

Astros are coming to Camden Yards this weekend... a way bigger series for the Orioles than it is for the Astros.

Unfortunately, we're rolling Ubaldo Jimenez onto the mound Friday. :gah:

I haven't given up, yet... but the starting pitching needs to man up (so to speak)!

Astros win : Houston Astros 8
Baltimore Orioles 4

Bad pitching. Good hitting. :-/

@JBrax your boys are back in the WC. This is going to be a dog fight!

Well wouldnt you know the Royals are on another long winning streak and Cleveland has to go and do the same. It's really incredible that not long ago they were one of the worst teams in baseball record wise. I've got a hunch nobody in the AL wants to see them come playoff time. I'm sure Houston still has nightmares of that series.

Just be glad your team is winning.

It's getting UGLY up (and, I guess, over) here!

Good point but let's not forget we had quite the dry spell here in KC. I feel your pain Todd.

This thread has really gotten quiet? My team is playing good so let's get it going please. Any Yankees, Houston, or Boston fans here? :whistling:

Tigers lost to the Astros.

I am actually amazed how good the Astros are. I will hold my breath thou.. Playoffs are different.
They have disappointed me in the past..

Houston is a dangerously talented team. TBH we should have lost to them in 2015 but....we didn't. The Royals are playing some great ball right now but we're guaranteed nothing as of yet. If we make the postseason I like our chances on the AL side. On the NL side I think the Dodgers are on another level. We'll see what happens.

What is great about sports is you never know how it goes.. One week you are doing great, next week, you are doing terrible..

Guess that is why we watch.. :)

Astros have everything they need with the exception of lights-out middle relief. Just my opinion, of course. They have good pitchers, just not sure if they can roll them out there during the playoffs and shut down another team from the 6th-8th.

Time will tell.

I do think they have a legit shot at the WS this year!

I agree.. I just don't want what happened last time we went to the world series..

2005 - Lost to White Sox (swept in 4 games)

The Astros definitely have a shot and if I was betting with my head and not my heart it's where my money would be. Now, enough of that nonsense and GO ROYALS!!!

Lol.. You made me smile. lol. Time will tell buddy. :)

That is a nice website. They must update as the season goes.. Will keep an eye on that site.. Thanks.

Jeff Bagwell gets inducted into baseball hall of fame today... go Astros! :)
