So I am wanting to take some measurements of my sub with REW, problem is my sb1000 pro sub is connected to my Denon soundbar that has a sub out connection. When I open up REW it is only recognizing my soundbar in ASIO so two channels only, there is no option for me to select only the sub channel to measure. Is there anyway to measure just my sub or am I stuck having to measure my soundbar together with my sub when I run sweeps in REW? I wanted to eq my sub and add a house curve with my 2x4HD but since I am unable to measure just the sub alone, I can’t seem to do so. Any help is very much appreciated thanks.

Has anyone here measured a sub in REW that’s connected to a soundbar? I want to make sure I have everything set up correctly in my laptop, when I open REW it only detects 2 channels in ASIO I’m assuming the reason is since it’s only 2.0 soundbar but I have a sub connected to it with the sub out on my soundbar. But in REW it doesn’t detect the LFE channel so I can’t select it on its own forcing me to measure the sub with the soundbar, and I believe it is messing with the measurements I have been taking..

I have a SB1000 pro and no matter what location I place the sub in my output is below 60db until about 40Hz and from my understanding the SB1000 pro can go down to about 20Hz so I’m thinking some settings are of on my laptop, my umik-1 is messed up or the sub being connected to the soundbar is throwing things off?? @John Mulcahy or anyone that can help it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

To measure the sub alone you may have to disconnect it from the soundbar and connect it to an analog output, e.g. the headphone output of your computer or an output on an audio interface if you have one.

FWIW, with a Samsung HW-Q950A soundbar, which has a wireless sub, I can configure 7.1 LPCM in Windows, and REW sees all 7.1 channels using ASIO4ALL, so yes, I can measure the sub alone.

Would something like this work?

The 3.5mm to stereo RCA will work to provide access to the headphone outputs.
So I would plug that into the headphone jack on my laptop and then I would plug in my subs into the red rca connection?

Yes, the red connector should have the right headphone output channel, the white should have the left.
