John Mulcahy replied to the thread Problem with offline measurement.A nonsense result would be expected since part of the system is running approx10% slower than expected and it's playing the wrong... -
John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW Beta Release REW API beta releases.I've added coefficient optimisation on export for the next build. It was pretty straightforward, just needed to evaluate the effects of...

John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW 5.31.3 / UMIK-1 – Unexpectedly low SPL readings.Sounds like the cal file may not be being read. Please attach screenshots of the REW soundcard and cal files preferences.

John Mulcahy replied to the thread sudden huge shifts in input SPL in bass+treble. That is likely to be due to noise cancellation processing, which Windows tends to apply by default to any mic input that provides stereo...

John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW Beta Release REW API beta releases. Thanks for the report, I've fixed that for the next build.

John Mulcahy replied to the thread The UMIK-X is compatible with the multi-channel measurement capability of Room EQ Wizard.UMIK-X isn't really suitable for that, it uses small arrays of MEMS mics which can't be far enough away from each other. You could just...

John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW Beta Release REW API beta releases. That's on the Measure dialog in 5.40.

John Mulcahy replied to the thread SNR differences between REW and QA40x using the QA403.I've simulated your results as closely as I can and I get the same answers as REW is showing. I have also checked the REW calculations...

John Mulcahy replied to the thread SNR differences between REW and QA40x using the QA403.Perhaps, I'm looking at it just now to make sure there are no numerical issues for low noise and high THD.
-
John Mulcahy replied to the thread SNR differences between REW and QA40x using the QA403.REW is using the ratio of the fundamental power to the noise plus non-harmonic distortion power as SNR. Both are unweighted.
-
John Mulcahy replied to the thread SNR differences between REW and QA40x using the QA403.The important settings for REW are the distortion high pass and low pass and whether "Use AES17-2015 standard notch" is selected. If it...

John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW 5.40 beta 135 / ASIO401 2.0: Sample rate mismatch (48/96/192 kHz).Meaning it works correctly when rates are changed, but not on startup if the REW rate differs from the device rate? If so, I can fix that.
-
John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW 5.40 beta 135 / ASIO401 2.0: Sample rate mismatch (48/96/192 kHz).REW sets the driver sample rate when it is changed in REW, reloads the driver, sets the sample rate again after reloading the driver...
-
John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW 5.40 beta 135 / ASIO401 2.0: Sample rate mismatch (48/96/192 kHz).REW can't tell whether the driver responded or not, it relies on JAsioHost to handle that communication. It calls the native JAsioHost...

John Mulcahy replied to the thread REW 5.40 beta 135 / ASIO401 2.0: Sample rate mismatch (48/96/192 kHz).To add to this, after REW sets the rate it reloads the driver and checks the rate it is running at, if the driver reports a different...
