How much preamp gain required

Hi @juicehifi

Maximum value on the correction filter graph below is -5.54dB

Does this mean in my convolver that I can safely apply +4dB of preamp gain and not have any clipping issues?

And is there a way to add this +4dB to the correction filter itself, so I don't need to do anything in convolver?

Why doesn't the correction filter auotmatically get closer to 0dB ? Does it deliberately avoid getting closer for technical reason?

I set my sweep level to -3dB in the measurement box - is that related at all to the below or unrelated?

Thanks!

Yes, you can safely go to +4 dB, and perhaps even to 6-7 before clipping sets in.

I think you can improve the gain in your correction by 3-4 dB based on what we see here.

1) Uncheck the +10dB LFE option if you haven't.
2) Get rid of the rise past 20 kHz in the tweeter. You can for instance use partial correction from 18 kHz.
3) Check that the subwoofer correction (sub as stand-alone) doesn't have peculiar rise above 100 Hz.

Thanks, for partial correction from 18kHz what would recommend starting with here:

Especially transition width and +/- amplification ?

There is a dip and then rise again above 100Hz. Is this strange or ok?

The sub is looking good. You can try those partial settings.
