(August 27, 2026) MicroLED has come a long way since Samsung’s giant modular “The Wall” concept helped drag the category into the mainstream spotlight back in 2018. Before then, the technology mostly lived in commercial circles and future-facing trade show conversations. But as seamless, modular video walls began to dominate show floors, the idea of a massive direct-view display in a luxury home setting shifted from a fringe concept to a residential reality.
Now in 2026, MicroLED has become one of the hottest categories in premium residential AV, and it's easy to understand why. Huge screen sizes, excellent bright room performance, reference contrast, rich color, and freedom from projector placement issues make the format incredibly compelling for luxury homes, media rooms, gaming spaces, commercial environments, and statement installations. Of course, there’s still one very real catch: most MicroLED systems require serious planning, involved installation, and a room that’s ready to accept a large, permanent display.
That’s where DreamWall’s new Monarch Portable MicroLED Display enters the picture, and yes, this one sounds like it could be a showstopper. Headed to CEDIA Expo 2026, Monarch takes the idea of a premium large-format MicroLED display and gives it something most video walls lack: mobility. No construction or permanent wall mounting. No major room commitment. Just a folding, height-adjustable, all-in-one display designed to move where it’s needed and be ready to use in roughly three minutes.
The core idea is wonderfully simple. Monarch is built with two side panels that fold 180 degrees, inspired by a butterfly's movement, while an integrated electric lift lowers the display’s overall height for transport. That means the system can move through standard doorways, elevators, hallways, and aisles, then unfold once it reaches its destination. Industrial-strength casters, lockable wheels, and electric height adjustment make it a one-person mobility solution that immediately sets Monarch apart from the fixed MicroLED installations most people picture when they think of the category.
Of course, this is a perfect solution for situations where a permanent installation isn’t wanted or, perhaps, even possible. Consider a luxury residence that needs a serious display in a flexible entertaining space, or a vacation property that could benefit from a premium screen that can shift between rooms. A retail showroom, restaurant, hospitality venue, executive boardroom, training facility, house of worship, trade show, or special event might need access to visual scale and impact without committing to construction. Monarch is aimed directly at those scenarios, delivering the full MicroLED spectacle without asking a room to surrender itself to a permanent display installation.
“The Monarch dramatically expands where premium MicroLED displays can be used,” said Gary Wermuth, CEO of DreamWall. “Whether it’s a luxury residence, rental property, retail showroom, hospitality venue, executive boardroom, training center or special event, Monarch delivers a stunning viewing experience without the complexity and expense of permanent installation.”
From a performance standpoint, DreamWall is positioning Monarch as far more than a clever mobile screen. The display uses advanced CooLED COB Micro/Mini LED technology and is described as delivering 4K-compatible fine-pitch MicroLED image quality. Listed performance highlights include a 30,000:1 contrast ratio, wide DCI-P3 color gamut, up to 2,000 nits of brightness, ETL/UL approvals, and strong durability. It also carries two HDMI 2.0 inputs, multiple USB connections, and built-in wireless collaboration tools for sharing screens from Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. Up to nine devices can be mirrored simultaneously at resolutions up to 3840 x 2160, making the system useful not only for movies and premium video, but also for presentations, education, collaboration, and corporate environments.
The flexibility story continues with support for 16:9, 21:9, and custom aspect ratios, while lifetime front-service access should make long-term ownership and support relatively painless. Monarch will be available in 108", 136", and 162" screen sizes, with a five-year limited warranty. Like DreamWall’s other MicroLED video wall solutions, it’s backed by factory-assisted installation guidance, project-specific system configuration, and U.S.-based technical support, giving dealers and integrators another layer of confidence when specifying something of this caliber.
DreamWall will showcase the Monarch Portable MicroLED Display at CEDIA Expo 2026 in Booth #1332.
