Deus Audio’s New Invicta 40 and Tetra 10 Deliver Monster Bass Without Eating the Room

(August 25, 2026) Deus Audio Machines was one of the more unexpected surprises at CEDIA Expo 2025. The company arrived without much warning, planted a massive 60" infrasonic subwoofer inside PMC Speakers’ Sound Room, and instantly became one of the show’s most physically impossible things to ignore. It was bold, aggressive, completely over the top, and, yes, totally awesome.

We had a chance to sit down with Deus Audio’s Jon Hart for a one-on-one conversation during the show, where we learned more about the company’s bespoke approach to low-frequency design, its in-house technologies, and the kind of true hands-on craftsmanship that separates Deus from more traditional speaker brands. What became clear very quickly is that Deus isn’t chasing ordinary bass. It’s chasing scale, pressure, control, and the kind of performance that turns low-frequency reproduction into something you feel radiating through your body.

For CEDIA Expo 2026, Deus is back with a different kind of challenge. The company says the goal behind its two new subwoofers is simple: “more bass, less space.” Makes sense, right? Yes, a 60" subwoofer is a spectacular statement piece, but it also eats up serious floor area, and even ultra-high-end private cinemas have to make room for seats, finishes, sightlines, and the realities of design. Not every client wants a giant black box dominating the room, no matter how much fun that box might be.

That brings us to what Deus has created, starting with the Invicta 40. On paper, the pitch is simple: half the output of the flagship Invicta 60 in one quarter of the footprint. In practice, that means an infrasonic subwoofer that stands nearly 74" tall and 36" wide, but measures only 14.5" deep. That last number is the magic trick, because depth is often the dimension theater designers have the least to give up. The Invicta 60 occupies nearly 15 square feet of floor space. The Invicta 40 drops that to 3.6 square feet while still delivering serious output capability. Use two Invicta 40s, and Deus says you can match the output of one Invicta 60 while gaining the placement advantages of two subwoofer locations.

Deus didn’t simply shrink the concept and call it a day. The Invicta 40 uses the same ultra-linear MASS Drive motor found in the Invicta 60, with slightly reduced travel to fit the slimmer enclosure depth. The driver itself is a 40" equivalent radiating area rectangular woofer with a hand-laid, one-piece flat carbon fiber cone. Deus says the MASS Drive motor is engineered to keep the cone’s motor force, suspension behavior, and electrical characteristics stable throughout its entire 66mm stroke, helping to hold distortion low even as output and excursion rise.

The speaker also lacks a conventional basket. Instead, the reinforced enclosure becomes part of the woofer’s support structure, with the motor rigidly coupled to the rear of the cabinet and the cone assembly supported at the front. A CNC-machined coupler ties the system together, creating one ultra-rigid structure from motor to cone. By removing the traditional basket, the Invicta 40 creates a stiffer, more integrated woofer and enclosure structure that reduces flex, lowers coloration, simplifies service, and helps the entire system perform at a higher level.

Speaking of repairability, Deus says the Invicta 40 is fully field serviceable, with a full recone possible by one technician in under 30 minutes using basic hand tools. That might not sound glamorous, but nobody wants to remove a subwoofer this large from a baffle wall or ship a massive driver across the country if service can be handled in place.

Invicta 40 is also designed as a complete active system, not a passive subwoofer. It’s optimized for Deus’s rack-mounted AMP2.6000, a two-channel Class D DSP amplifier rated at 6,000 watts per channel. The system also uses TrueTemp direct voice coil temperature measurement, along with real-time limiters for excursion, voltage, current, power, and amplifier temperature. The idea is to let the system operate closer to its actual limits while still protecting the driver and amplifier.

And yes, the numbers are serious. For this article, Deus supplied CTA-2010-B data for the Invicta 40, showing a maximum peak output of 141.9 dB at 80 Hz and low-frequency extension listed at F3 19.9 Hz, F6 15.8 Hz, and F10 12.3 Hz with DSP. Native frequency response is listed at 24.9 Hz to 123 Hz, while DSP extends that to 19.9 Hz to 105 Hz. In other words, this is still very much an infrasonic machine. It just happens to be one designed for rooms where every inch of floor space counts.

If Invicta 40 is Deus’s answer to “more infra bass, less space,” Tetra 10 attacks the same problem from a different direction: more bass, no floor space. This is a high-output, force-balanced subwoofer designed for in-wall and on-wall cinema installations, with a cabinet sized to fit a standard 2x6 framed wall. It measures 69.63" tall, 14.25" wide, and 6.20" deep overall, with a 5.9" installed depth when placed in a standard wall cavity with 1/2" drywall.

Tetra 10 is built for rooms where the floor plan has no interest in hosting a large freestanding subwoofer.

The design uses four custom long-travel 10" shallow woofers developed entirely in-house by Deus. They operate in a shared sealed enclosure using an inverted push-pull, force-balanced arrangement that helps cancel mechanical reaction forces before they reach the cabinet. Deus makes an important point here: the large openings at the top and bottom of the enclosure aren't ports. Two drivers fire internally into the sealed cabinet, and their rear-wave output exits through those apertures to couple with the two front-facing drivers. That preserves a sealed alignment, along with the more gradual 12 dB per octave rolloff that can work naturally with room gain.

Vibration control is a major part of the story. Tetra 10 uses a three-stage vibration-management system that starts with a force-balanced driver layout and adds node-optimized mounting points where the cabinet moves the least during playback. Silicone-decoupled structural mounts further isolate the cabinet from the surrounding wall structure, ultimately delivering something beautifully simple: energy that goes into the room, not the wall.

Tetra 10 is also designed with distributed bass in mind. Because it can be installed in-wall or on-wall where bass is most effective, multiple units can be placed around a room to reduce modal peaks and nulls, improve seat-to-seat consistency, and support advanced bass strategies such as Trinnov WaveForming, Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, Single Bass Array, and Double Bass Array layouts. For the biggest systems, Deus says Tetra 10 can also pair with Invicta subs, with Invicta handling the lowest of duties and Tetra delivering powerful midbass support throughout the room.

Reported measured playback is serious for something that disappears into a wall. Deus lists peak output at 128.0 dB at 1 meter, with CTA-2010-B data showing output above 120 dB from 40 Hz through 200 Hz. Frequency response is rated from 45.3 Hz to 166 Hz at -3 dB, with low-frequency extension to 27.2 Hz at -10 dB. Recommended amplification is Deus’s AMP 2.2500, a two-channel Hypex NCore Class D amplifier with integrated DSP, rated at 2,500 watts per channel.

Taken together, Invicta 40 and Tetra 10 make Deus’s CEDIA 2026 message very clear. The company isn't backing away from big bass. It is trying to make big bass easier to place, easier to design around, and easier to integrate into rooms where the experience matters. Invicta 40 delivers true infrasonic force from a much shallower cabinet, while Tetra 10 brings reference-level bass into a 2x6 wall. That’s a compelling one-two punch from a company that made its first major impression by going absolutely enormous.
