For the last 2 weeks I have been trying to setup my computer DSP rig for 3way crossover with sub using AL convolver (see my baby steps in AL post). I works with Asio Bridge and AL convolver but for standalone and external spdif source it is still a no go. The external source is not routed to the convolver. It is either routed directly to the main or to out 7. I tried to reset all mixes to default, nothing seems to work.
If anyone with an RME card managed to play external sources through AL convolver please share your knowledge.

FWIW I have the same problem with my Fireface UCX2. Stand-alone operation from my HTPC is perfect (roon -> jriver -> penteo upmix -> AL convolver); using line-in through Jriver to the convolver doesn’t work (ASIO/WDM).

I saw you replied to my HLC post. Maybe you should try it. Works great, stable and no latency when using TV.

Have you configured jriver to play a format that matches with the one(s) in the correction?

Apologies for the delayed reply, it was a busy week. Yes, Jriver should be aligned with AL filter. My filter is 48/88/96 kHz, and I set the interface to all these values, but Jriver seems stuck in “waiting for” once I select Live in. Jriver is not configured to change sampling rate.

Yeah, it doesn't work. You can search for it on the JRiver forums. RME just doesn't work with JRiver ASIO line in.

I was talking about the format. In JRiver's dsp module you can specify a speaker setup. Choose the smallest value that covers the last output you're using... 5.1 if the last out channel in Audiolense was 5, 7.1 if it was 7, 16 channels if it was larger etc.

My AL filters are 9.2. I usually set Jriver to 10 channels when I am convolving from files - and that doesn’t work with Live In. Tried to set Jriver to 16 channels and doesn’t work. Fiddles with that setup for various hours, but always crashes miserably.

That sounds more like a JRiver issue, than an RME issue.
We use the Fireface UCX in our audio measurement systems, and have absolutely no issues with multichannel in/out from them. Even when running several software suites simultaneously on the same UCX interface and mixing ASIO/WDM, everything works flawlessly.

Agree. When using HLC or even Elements and X-MCFX it works. Something with JR doesn't communicate with the RME. BTW in my hand it didn't work with AL convolver either.
