Be the Judge: The Ultimate Home Theater Room Review Thread

Think the room is spectacular in design, staged seats and etc. I would get rid of the front cabinetry and install an AT screen. Better use of the space and can get more screen footage with a projector.

Yeah, that front cabinetry is very restrictive in terms of what size TV can fit there. Definitely would like to see a bigger TV there. :)

NUMBER 4

Number four here is very fancy. I am not sure exactly what those things above the audio rack are (below the TV).. I am assuming middle speakers? I think the TV should be bigger. :)

I think those are speakers!

ok, they must be the front left, middle, and right speakers.. That is interesting placement.

The artwork on the side walls should have ridged FG in them and moved forward to the 1st reflection points.

While it looks like a nice clean installation, I don't personally care for the aesthetic. I'm just not a fan of red when it comes to home decor. I would have also done a much bigger TV instead of having sconces on the front wall. And those speakers look pretty small. I guess the rears are in the ceiling?

Good times. Keep 'em coming Todd!

I'm also not a big fan of the aesthetics. I prefer softer/neutral earthy tones myself. As for the space I think it could have been much much better. A HUGE screen to start with.

If this were a projection room, red would be a terrible mistake... and I agree it's not a great move here (either).

Funny... this mental image comes to mind when looking at these pics! :T

My OCD's are also not liking the uneven spacing of the front row seating. It looks as though a good deal of money was spent on the room but it could have been much better allocated.

Todd, how about this for picture 5. I see something very wrong with this one...

lol. Talk about not getting the "center" view..

I guess if you bring your own chair you get the central point of view. Even the picture is awkward looking, all the people are clearly leaning toward the center of the room. Can't even sit back and really enjoy the movie.

lol. I just noticed that the lights were on.. I was mostly looking at the center..

The other problem is: That's not a screen. It's a window and that biker is about to come crashing into the room! :dizzy:

Honestly... why in the world would you line the walls with chairs????

This brings to mind the question..

Should you get an interior decorator who knows home theater to setup your home theater? Granted, people here who are on this forum, know this hobby but for the general folks who have no clue, should they get a professional to assist in placement of not only equipment but also furniture?? :)

Most people want style of substance....

I think the correct phase here is..

Most people have no clue.

:)

Now, speaking of style over substance, what do you guys think about this one..

To me a big issue with a lot of these rooms is that they do not appear to have proper audio systems. It seems they just went for the big screen.
