One of her better songs. I don't know why she started the album with the song above compared to this one.

I watched a show on Bessie Smith "Empress of The Blues" on Crave last night. What I found interesting is that Ma Rainey took Bessie Smith under her wing for a while and once again later on in life when Bessie encountered hard times. I'm not sure if that is factual or not because I simply dont know but it would be nice to see such two powerful blues icons in the 20's and 30s be there for one another. After the show, I listened to some Bessie Smith;

The band formed in 1968 and recorded only one album. Its too bad as these guys were really good.

They remind me of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band as they started to move to a more psychodelic blues. Its an outstanding album by any measure.

Good morning and happy Tuesday from a sunny but cold Ottawa. I'm off shortly to do my daily 12km walk but I thought I post last's night sessions.

The top deck is recording it via dbx for home use only, the bottom deck is recording with Dolby C for walkman use. This is my first ever album of Josh White. He was a very good guitarist.

Happy Friday everyone. I've been too busy to post daily dialing in the subs in the greatroom (combination kitchen, living, and dining room area) again as I had new furniture arrive. This is what I've been listening too these few days. Have a great weekend.
