Howdy folks! Long time since I’ve posted… anyway, kicking off my return with this:

Been awhile since I have posted up music...so since today I removed the Marantz and Penny 820 to get them ready to sell, I decided to fire up the Jays Audio cdt2mk3 with the Denafripa Athena, and Pontus 2 DAC and spins some CDs.
First was Jazz at the pawn shop (which I have not streamed or played since I went cabinetless.

Next was Praful...which I have not heard since my old Negatron Theater.


Wow, how fresh they both sound! The bottom end is strong , with ex Ellenton clarity, and zero harshness.

Finishing off the night with Roxette... I remember many days driving and listening to them on my car stereo, but never listened to them on my home setups.

Sounds much better than I thought it would on my home setup.

I suffered a concussion on the evening of Jan 22 at the curling club slipping and falling on the ice and hitting the back of my head and knocking myself out for a couple of minutes. I was told to avoid screen time by my Dr but I'm going stir crazy. I did a lot of record cleaning, recording, and listening.

Yesterday's vinyl selections

I have to toss the Rush set into the garbage. The ultrasonic cleaner doesn't repair vinyl, just removes dirt. The background noise dropped substantially on the first disc, enough for me to keep it. However, the 2nd disc had deep scratches that could be felt by my finger tips.
