Triangle Writes New Chapter with Solstice Loudspeaker Series

(June 22, 2026) Triangle is turning the page on one of its longest-running loudspeaker families with the introduction of the new Solstice Series. Replacing the company's Esprit lineup after more than three decades, Solstice isn't just a simple update of an established design. It was developed from the ground up with an entirely new acoustic platform, revised driver technologies, stronger cabinet construction, and a host of engineering refinements to improve clarity, coherence, and overall musical performance.

The launch includes three models designed to serve both two-channel fans and home theater enthusiasts, consisting of the Solstice 8 floorstanding speaker, the Solstice 3 bookshelf speaker, and the Solstice C3 center channel. All share common drivers, crossover philosophy, and cabinet architecture to ensure consistent voicing.

One of the most significant developments is found in the series's new horn-loaded tweeter. Triangle says its redesigned waveguide spreads high frequencies more evenly throughout the room, creating a wider listening area while improving the transition between the tweeter and midrange driver. The tweeter itself combines an aluminum/magnesium dome with a revised motor assembly and other refinements to reduce distortion and deliver cleaner, more consistent high-frequency performance.

The remainder of the driver lineup also received considerable attention. Each was developed specifically for the Solstice platform, incorporating new die-cast aluminum baskets to improve rigidity, reduce unwanted resonance, and promote better airflow. Triangle continues to rely on natural cellulose pulp cones for the midrange, citing their ability to reproduce voices and instruments with a natural tonal balance, while the Solstice 8 adds a pair of newly developed concave woofers engineered to deliver deeper, cleaner bass with reduced distortion.

Cabinet engineering has received a substantial overhaul as well. Triangle says each driver is mounted to an internal high-density brace separated by an EVA foam interface that absorbs vibration before it can energize the cabinet itself. Rounded cabinet edges are in place to reduce diffraction and improve stereo imaging, while high-density MDF construction delivers mass and rigidity throughout the lineup.

The floorstanding Solstice 8 introduces an especially interesting low-end design element by routing its bass-reflex port through a hidden laminar-flow base. The approach is intended to reduce port noise while the base itself combines cast iron and silicone to isolate vibration from the floor. A built-in two-degree rearward tilt also aligns the tweeter more naturally with seated listening positions.

While much of the engineering happens in areas that are out of sight, Triangle hasn't ignored aesthetics. The Solstice Series is offered in Black Ash, White, Teak, and Birch finishes, each paired with color-matched magnetic grilles, sculpted silicone driver surrounds, and champagne-colored aluminum trim rings. For bookshelf owners, Triangle has also developed the optional S05 stand, allowing the Solstice 3 to mechanically lock into place for a clean, integrated appearance.

The Solstice 8 is a three-way floorstander featuring a 25mm horn-loaded tweeter, 16cm cellulose midrange driver, dual 16cm woofers, 91dB sensitivity, and a frequency response rated from 38Hz to 22kHz. It's recommended for rooms between 161–538 square feet and carries a suggested retail price of $2,799 per pair.
The Solstice 3 is a two-way bookshelf speaker with a 25mm horn-loaded tweeter, 16cm mid-woofer, 90dB sensitivity, and a 48Hz to 22kHz frequency response. Recommended for rooms between 108–377 square feet, it's priced at $1,349 per pair.
The Solstice C3 center channel pairs the same tweeter with dual 16cm mid-woofers while offering 92dB sensitivity and a 50Hz to 22kHz frequency response. It's priced at $750 each.
