I know that scene in Interstellar well... and I have to be honest... I think you're shorting yourself. You need to get another one and have dual S7201s in your theater. Not only will you lay claim to some of the best bass on the planet, you'll also have ridiculous amounts of street cred (your ownership has already boosted your street cred to insane levels... but just imagine would two would get you!!)...

My wife stays downstairs in the family room most of the time. Now that the S7201 is shaking the ENTIRE house, she can't escape the bass any longer.

Hmmm... I bet if you upload to YouTube without mentioning a film titles in text, you'll probably be able to have it stick. Other than that, not sure.

I'd put good money on a bet that if you came up with a creative story, you could crowdsource funds to get another one of those insane subs into your hands.

Promise a video of the move in process... interviews with your wife, kids, and neighbors... it could be so entertaining that a few hundred people would be willing to chip in enough coin!

Nope. They scan the audio. Had a few videos muted.

@climber07, when you get into REW and seeing what is going on in the room for real, you are going to hit a whole new level that is several levels above now.

Accurate bass seems not as fun as bombast at first, though. Get it dialed in, live with it for a bit and you will understand this juxtaposition. I have two settings on my pre/pro, the "fun" setting for showing off and the "accurate" one for serious listening.

Best of luck, room measurement is a game changer!

I used Sketchup. It's a free 3D drawing program. I used the overall actual measurements when designing "my" version of the S7201, but free-handed some of the holes, drivers, etc. The bottom baffle openings are different shape/size due to the amp cutout.

I'm still amazed at how powerful it is. The extension is crazy low and clean which causes the how to shake even when there is no audible output from the sub. This subwoofer also dismisses the debate over tactile response in ported versus sealed subs. I feel like I have transducers installed in all of my furniture. You can feel the bass hits in your entire body. I watched Terminator Genysis and was blown away by the absolutely violent output the S7201 is capable of. Tom and Jim have updated the Power Sound Audio site with more specs on the entire line-up of subwoofers. They listed the output specs for the S7201 and it only serves to validate the observations that I have made. Even running the subwoofer AVR trim 8 dB hotter that Audyssey's initial setting and with DEQ enabled, I am unable to push this subwoofer to its limits. MASSIVE amounts of headroom in even the most demanding movies and music.


S7201 Frequency Response
The frequency response graph shows how the subwoofer will sound for a given input frequency or tone. Accurate reproduction of the source material is achieved with a flat frequency response as shown in the graph.

S7201 Compression
The compression graph indicates how the output of the subwoofer changes as the input signal increases.
