The Official JTR Speakers Loudspeaker Discussion Thread!

I want to buy, but I still have doubts.

Checking back in to say the change from 110HT to 210RM for center duty was a much better upgrade than I anticipated. I was really happy using the 110HT in my small 11’x12.5’ room. In fact, the 210RM was ordered because of a planned move which would have had a much larger room, but (thankfully) fell through and also to get ahead of some price increases.
But, as I sit here today, listening to some Auro 3D upmixed music with this thing, I can’t help but think it’s one of the more impactful upgrades I’ve had. Whether it’s caused by the lower extension, now having matching drivers to the mains, both or other, I can’t say for sure, but there’s no doubt the front stage sounds more cohesive or “filled in”. Now I just need to wait for some time to get the 110HT-SLs out of the garage and onto the ceiling. 🙂

what’s the depth on those speakers?

That has to be a nice center... wish I had room for something that large. Glad it is working out for you.

My cabinet is ready... and I should have my custom-built center from JTR pretty soon. It will replace my MartinLogan, and I'll be fully JTR/RTJ.

That’s looking really good!
Any specs like driver sizes and how it will be configured that you can share at this point?

I really think this design (low profile with horn to match the other speakers in the home theater line) could find a permanent home in Jeff’s line up.

Ill be curious on what you think going from an electro static to a coaxial horn.
Me too!

I've been extremely happy with the horns elsewhere, but the ML has been the best center for vocals thus far. However, I've never tried a horn.

Dims 44.75 x 9.5 x 11" deep to fit in my current coveyhole. Horn in the middle and 8" drivers to each side with 8" passive radiators on the ends.

That's all I have at this time.

Packing today... shipping tomorrow... woohoo!

Finally got time to install it. Funny incident. I sat down to start listening, and my heart sank, as the sound was muffled and I couldn't understand a word that was being uttered on anything I viewed. Of course, I have not reset Dirac, but surely it's not going to be that bad off. I was scratching my head. I walked up to the speaker while listening just to make sure the tweeter was playing... and what did I see that was causing the problem?

Fit perfectly and sounds great, even without tuning Dirac yet. :dontknow:

Awesome, Sonnie!!

I’ll guess the shipping protector Jeff puts on his coax horns wasn’t removed.

Yep, that's an easy thing to miss and would definitely cause a muffled sound.

Before I first purchased JTR, I saw others mention this over-site on the forums, and I made a mental note of it so that I wouldn't do the same. :nono: Of course, I've made many other mistakes to make up for avoiding that one. :hide:

You would think I'd remember considering I have a dozen or so stashed away.
It just didn't hit me until I saw it and then did the duh thing. :thud:

It's easy to get the mental notes flushed out when there is no more room left for absorption. :whistling:

I'm 76. Trust me, I understand. Now, what were we talking about? :olddude:

If you can't remember, we are in trouble. I'm sure the 23 speakers and 40,000+ watts of power in my room having nothing to do with my memory. I was told that the new hearing aids I just got would help prevent Alzheimers. But it doesn't seem to be helping with my sometimers.
