Limited Collector’s Edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ Steelbook Arrives February 25, 2020

On March 2, 1990, moviegoers were first introduced to Tom Clancy’s legendary CIA analyst Jack Ryan when the thrilling and suspense-filled THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER debuted in theaters. Now fans can relive every tension-laden moment with a special 30th anniversary Limited Collector’s Edition 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Steelbook, arriving February 25, 2020 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Based on Tom Clancy's bestseller, directed by John McTiernan (Die Hard), and starring Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER seethes with high-tech excitement and sweats with the tension of men who hold Doomsday in their hands. A new technologically-superior Soviet nuclear sub, the Red October, is heading for the U.S. coast under the command of Captain Marko Ramius (Connery). The American government thinks Ramius is planning to attack. A lone CIA analyst named Jack Ryan (Baldwin) has a different idea: he thinks Ramius is planning to defect, but he has only a few hours to find him and prove it because the entire Russian naval and air commands are trying to find him, too. The hunt is on!

The 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo in a Limited Collector’s Edition Steelbook includes access to a Digital copy of the film, as well as commentary by director John McTiernan and the behind-the-scenes featurette “Beneath the Surface” on the Blu-ray.

YES!!!!!!!!!

Mike, you need to dig up some details on this... perhaps your Paramount contact will know:

Is it a new transfer?
What audio encode will it carry?
Where can we buy it (as of now, only Best Buy has it listed... no preorder).

I am ALL over this. Another one of my top 5 favorite films. Brilliant.

It's a clone of the disc from the 4k boxset in steelbook form

And it looks like it will be BB exclusive for a few months, then go wide release like their other steelbooks they have released

I had completely forgotten about that 5-film release. You gave the video side of things rather impressive scores. I think I might just pick up the Collectors pack. Although, if the Steel Book is priced right...:spend:

yes, the video was impressive on all of them. Especially Shadow Recruit.

with the 5 film set being only $50 on amazon (ish), I think it just makes sense to grab that unless you don't like the sequels

however, that steelbook looks stinking cool though lol

Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger are movies that I like - watched them quite a few times over the years. I'm not sure if I've seen the others.
