Super Size Your 4K Experience with the C SEED 262, the World’s Largest Indoor TV
(C SEED)(June 22, 2017) Over the last several weeks, we’ve covered several different manufacturers that have released new budget to mid-priced televisions. Today, we’re kicking budget to the curb in favor of total and utter indulgence. With a size and price tag that’s nearly impossible to miss, meet the massive C SEED 262 ($539,000; $577,500 installed),
C SEED, an Austrian company better known for its large luxury outdoor entertainment systems, has destroyed the record books by releasing the largest indoor television ever manufactured. The C SEED 262 sports a screen diagonal that’s 262-inches and a total screen width that stretches a smidge over 20 feet. For those of you wondering, that’s 1,759-pounds of television (costing roughly $328 per pound, installed).
The screen’s 2:40:1 aspect ratio is loaded with more than 7-million direct-emitting LEDs with a 1.5mm pixel pitch, capable of producing 281 trillion colors. Its native contrast ratio is reported to be 5,000:1 (sounds honest), and C SEED says the set has a wide-ranging 160-degree viewing angle. The TV’s brightness can hit 800 nits to accommodate bright room situations (despite being marketed as 4K, there’s no mention of High Dynamic Range performance).
Speaking of rooms, you’re probably wondering where you should place your 20-foot wide television, and C SEED’s marketing material has the answer: “a remote corner of a luxury mansion.” Simple, right? All you need to do is find a remote corner in your mansion, and you’re ready to buy!
The television is delivered with a remote control, a 4K media server and a Novastar 4K LED controller, an integrated high-end surround speaker system, and a motorized fabric cover that can be dispatched to cover the screen.
As the old saying goes, if you’re concerned about the insurance cost, then you shouldn’t be buying a Ferrari. Well, in the C SEED 262’s case, if you’re concerned about the electric bill, then you probably shouldn’t be buying a 262. The set’s typical power consumption is rated at 2,850 watts (11,400 Watts peak).
The 262’s performance specs aren’t all roses, as it only carries one 4K capable HDMI input (paired with 2 standard HDMI ports). It does, however, make up for its HDMI shortcomings by offering three XLR balance audio outputs.
The C SEED 262 is available this summer, so start saving now.
