Set up my son inlaw with a home theater built around some older components.

My daugher and her family had to move to a new PMQ (army base) because of a brown bat infestation in their old home. My son in law purchased a projector. This is what the setup looks like after move in back in June. Subs were set up by ear as I had to forgot the UMIK mic.

Fast forward to Canadian Thanksgiving and I replaced the old wire rack with a used stereo stand. I will dial the subs in tomorrow using REW and the UMIK1.

I have added Bluetooth capability and internet streaming capability to the old Yamaha RX-V1800 by the two deviced attached to the AVR, The top device is the bluetooth to audio out converter and below that, a ROKU stick as shown below.

I spent all day on Oct 13 getting the subs dialed in in my son inlaw's new basement. I started around 8:30, worked through my lunch and had everything dialed in by 4pm. The first sub took the longest to dial around 2:30pm. The second sub took a about an hour. Then I had to merge the subs with the main speakers for two settings, Home Theater and Music.

Doing it by ear, the subs were located here because I forgot the Umik mic.

Changing placement of the sub as well as orientation for each placement accompanied by measurements to see the results brought me to these sub locations. Far more even response across the bass region between 20 Hz - 120 Hz.

The frequency curve is nothing to talk about but its the best I could do with just sub placement.
Here's a pic of where the subs were placed before and after calibration.

Full frequency response with EQ set to flat. I reduced the sub volume on the subs before taking the measurement because the excessive bass would have given my daughter anxiety. Subs were dialed into the mains by altering the sub distance on the AVR
