(January 3, 2023) The days of OLED lacking brightness appear to be over. Recently, LG Electronics announced its new line of OLED TVs with evo technology is nearly 70% brighter (which equates to output reaching 1,700 or 1,800 nits). Now, Samsung says its 2023 QD OLED TVs, which first appeared at CES 2022, are capable of reaching more than 2,000 nits.

Samsung Display's 2023 QD OLED models include a super-large 77-inch TV, the largest in a series that also includes 55-, 65-, 34-inch displays options as well as a 49-inch ultra-wide monitor. The company says these sets carry an advanced optimization algorithm called IntelliSense AI, and new OLED HyperEfficient EL material that improves the color brightness of each RGB. As a result, the maximum brightness of combined RGB color brightness becomes more than 2,000 nits, which is mind-blowing considering OLED's inability to reach high levels of brightness just a few short years ago.

Samsung Display says that AI technology based on big data collects information on each pixel in real-time and uses it to precisely control light, allowing viewers to enjoy outstanding image quality and panel efficiency has been greatly increased with advanced AI technology. Additionally, the efficiency of the light source is increased with the new OLED HyperEfficient EL material applied to the blue emitting layer of QD-OLED. As a result, RGB light that passes through the QD color conversion layer is much brighter and the colors much clearer.

Much like LG, Samsung is quick to point out an earth-friendly approach to its latest QD OLED models, claiming they've reduced power consumption by up to 25% as compared to 2022 displays. This is achieved through applying high-efficiency organic materials and more advanced AI technology.

Sorry I have not posted any information or videos! I have many great videos and a lot of excellent technical information on the enhancements for 2023.

I'm so heavily booked for my entire time in Las Vegas. I'll put out as much as possible while I'm here and much more when I get home with more time and better Internet bandwidth for the large videos.

Look forward to another great year for digital video display technology advancements!

Here's a quick Instagram post I just did with some information about Samsung Display's new 2023 QD OLED advancements:
