Official "Things that go bang when you pull the trigger" thread

gotcha, I've usually stuck with mil-spec charging handles, but I figure I might as well splurge and see what the fuss is about on the extrended fancy schmancy handles are.

Yeah, I remember when you posted about getting a CBC upper, I googled around but couldn't find any info on them. So far so good it sounds like though

well, due to a surreptitious trade of one of my AR's (I've built too many and had a few spares as trade fodder) I finally went commie. Snagged a near NIB WASR 10 with an early 2017 build date and some surplus mags as a straight across trade for a a basic Palmetto State Armory AR I had lying around.... now I have about 30 mags after hitting up Apex and Prepper gun shop and I'm waiting to hit the range :D

What would you recommend buying:
M&P®40 SHIELD™ Tritium Night Sights - No Thumb Safety
Glock 27 Gen4 Tritium Night Sights

Never really liked Glocks much... Colt, Smith & Wesson, H&K and Beretta... Are my preference, in that order...

My daily CCWs are a Kimber Super Carry Pro HD and/or a Kimber Micro Raptor 380...

PS - When invited to a gunfight, always bring a gun...

decided that the best way to celebrate Independence Day was to get another device that goes bang. This time I splurged and got a romanian M10 AK from Atlantic Firearms.

also picked up a CMMG conversion bolt carrier group to turn one of my AR-15's into shooting .22lr. SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun to shoot .22lr out of a full AR style rifle... the most fun I've had standing up... I blew through 475 rounds of a brick of CCI ammo yesterday morning and I couldn't stop grinning the whole time

That’s nice Mike. :T

Unrelated but my celebration.

I'm a big fan of Atlantic Firearms for my AKs. they took what was a basic RH-10 (from Century Arms) and blasted it down, put on a phosphate coating, then a heavy duty teflon coat. Nickel coated the bolt and carrier, then installed a nice Jmac muzzle brake on it. a bit pricier than having Century arms do their RH-10, but it doesn't have the drunk monkeys from Century messing with converting the magwell to U.S. compliance and screwing it up .... I'm stoked to get it.

dawwww, cute pupper. My two are hugging on the couch very nervously trying to drown out the fireworks in the background

Mike, the wood work on that stock looks gorgeous!

it looks better in person. it's darker and less garish on the green. At least for the one I got.

Purty for sure!

If you guys ever want Kimber... they are right here in Troy now... and we are their Platinum Master Dealer.... we get the bestest prices of anyone on Kimber... and we pass it on to the customer.

We ship a bunch of Kimbers regularly.

now that's interesting. I'm not a big fan of Mimber ....errr... Kimber for their 1911s, but that micro 9 is one I've been interested in for a while. I can't get a new hand gun for a while otherwise my wife will murder me (I picked up 4 AK's this year alone lol) but I will probably hit you up sometime this year or beginning of 2020 about that Micro 9

My everyday carry is a Micro 9 CDP. Pure makes me look like a professional when I shoot it.

my everyday carry is still that shield you sold me years ago. love that gun, but the micro 9 is looking pretty ..

that one has an ambi safety on it correct? (the curse of being left handed)

That is correct... the CDP's come with the ambi safety.

I know they sell the ambi safety for the full size... our cost is about 40 bucks or so... and I think they sell it for the Micro 9 as well. I could probably get one either way... or for that matter... I don't need ambi... so I could always swap it out for you with mine. It's just useless for me if you know what I mean.

sweet. ambi safeties are must for me unless it's a range toy as being lefty puts a limit on some of my gun buying purchases.

Well you know we can take care of that for you... if we cut your thumbs off... you want even need a safety. :dumbcrazy:

ummmm, not sure that's the method I would use, but ok

because I'm a weak weak man, and because I've been DYING for a definitive Arms AK build for literally YEARS (every time they would go up for sale they would sell out in just a few hours, or one day, as the owner builds 100% hand fitted custom AKs that are known to be world class, but that means limited stock and very high demand), I have broken down and got one of his romanian built masterpieces. The price sucks, but i've been salivating over a DAKM (Definite Arms AK) for too many years and I lucked out at grabbing one an hour and a half after they went live... now I just have to impatiently wait for it to get here

Wow, nice!

LWRC International is on my short list.

Safeties are for sissies... ;^) Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target...

LWRC makes really good stuff. I tend to like KAC (Knights Armament) a bit more, but LWRC and LMT both make some EXCELLENT higher end AR's

it's been a while, but I added a Hungarian AK63f built from Atlantic firearms. Built using a near mint Hungarian parts kit, ,using an FB Radom CHF chromed barrel and Childers receivers. Unbelievably smooth shooting

second on the list is a Romanian MD65 underfolder AK from Atlantic complete with the reverse dong grip.

Mike, that thing looks like it was shipped directly from the tribal region of Pakistan!
