My CCW is a Kahr PM40....my duty carry a H&K P2000. Really need to buy a Glock sub compact 40. Miss carrying a Glock, used to carry a Glock 17. Don't miss the 9mm though. Prefer a 40. Found the Glock never jammed once in 7 yrs. Can't really complain about the H&K as it hasn't jammed but a few times over the last 7 yrs, and likely was due to a bad grip.

I love smith and wesson guns, I have 2 shields, 2 M&P9c's and a host of other ones, but for some reason that bodyguard just didn't do it. for a .380 caliber that I use to stuff in my pants while jogging, I went with the LCP

What would you recommend buying:
M&P®40 SHIELD™ Tritium Night Sights - No Thumb Safety
Glock 27 Gen4 Tritium Night Sights

neither... get something other than a .40 cal ;).......

all kidding aside... it REALLY depends. How are you going to be carrying it? In the waist band? Over the waistband? Concealed? Open Carry?

have you tried both in your hand yet? that's a big thing. the shield WILL be lighter in the hand, and I think the G27 is a lot more squirrely when shooting. The shield is a bit softer IMO. Also the thickness of a G27 is a substantial when compared to the uber thin shield. The only one that's thinner than the shield's grip is the Ruger LC9s.... if it was ME and I could only have ONE I'd probably choose the shield. but if you've got big hands and like the extra capacity you can't go wrong with the G27... my opinion. both ... that's what I did... I have the 9mm versions of both (G26 and Shield 9mm)... they each serve a purpose depending on the clothes I'm wearing. That and my wife stole my first G26 and I had to replace it *grumble *moan *whine)

I need to check out that CZ 75 compact. Where do you carry it and is it comfortable?

I have no idea how I didn't see replies to this thread. I carry it OWB as it's a bit bigger than your average CCW gun. probably glock 19 size, but a teensy bit heavier because its 14+1 and an aluminum framed gun instead of a polymer framed gun like the G-19... a lot slimmer though as it doesn't have the "block" curse. It's the P-01 and its' a dream to shoot. stupid stupid accurate

It is a model 5904 Michael, and I love it. I think I would like to obtain more in the future but as with audio, it might take some time. I need a shotgun as the one I had when I got shot broke when I fell on the rr tracks.

ahhh, the 5904... gotcha. 3rd gen S&W then... I have my eye on a 5906 (the full steel framed version vs. your aluminum alloy framed one) for quite some time, I just need to get my mits on a decently priced one. I'd hold onto those. They are in high demand right now and are hard to come by

Mike has covered about all there is to say, but I would definitely put my hands on both because they are VERY different guns in nearly every dimension. I am not a fan of any of the Glock sub-compacts myself... they look stubby and feel stubby to me, but you can add a Ghost mag extension and solve that issue.

I have no idea how I didn't see replies to this thread.

That's what draws me away from the G27..the thickness. I would be looking for something which I could also CCW IWB. I am small framed. The shield would be one step up in weight from my Kahr PM40 which i currently CCW and is only just under 16 oz. in weight. How's the trigger on the Shield....compared to the Glock. I recently was shooting a Glock as compared to my normal H&K and it was like shooting a machine gun. I forgot how long the trigger pull and reset on the H&K was as compared to the Glock :sneaky:. As for .40's...I like to keep all my handguns same caliber, and similar setup (safety, no safety, site type, etc.). I don't have any experience shooting a Shield, but would definitely shoot one at a local range before I decided to buy one.

trigger can be a bit gritty at first, but it does clean up over 500 rounds or so... the glock's trigger is mushier, the shield is crisper

on a side note. For those of you with Glocks like me, have you tried the Magpul Pmag glock mags??? I've been hearing good things on the interwebs, so I grabbed a trio of them for my Glock 26 and a trio for my Glock 19 ... real curious to see how they are reliability wise.

Nice to see that other forumers are sharing my other hobby :)
This is my latest 17 rounds 9 mm. purchase... I live in Italy and it's produced by Pardini, an Italian manufacturer who earned 3 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze ones at the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro 2016.
I very much like the grip angle and the four different ways one can fine tune its trigger (the best I know of)

that looks like a one of the CZ-75 clones with those rails. Nice workmanship. Almost reminds me of a swiss KRISS

It was my first time shooting a Shield - I like the trigger. My wife didn't think it was too bad either, though surprisingly she liked shooting the 1911 better. It's still not quite her thing to go shooting, but she humors me

5.56... CBC Industries 10.5" upper, Anderson lower and parts kit, CMC trigger, BCM charging handle, Spike's Tactical bolt carrier, Sig brace, Burris AR536 scope.

how are you liking the BCM charging handle? I've been looking at the medium latch one or a raptor but can't decide.

I'm in a similar build at the moment as you. Aero Precision Lower, Palmetto State Lower parts kit, KAK shockwave buffer tube (the dimpled one for it) + the KAK blade itself... Toolcraft Nitride BCG and going to go with fixed Daniel Defense front and rear sights. Only thing I'm still wavering on is the upper. I'm liking some of the Palmetto Nitride uppers, but also thinking about going with an Aero M4e1 10.5 inch upper to try something new (I've got 3 PSA complete builds already, little variation is the spice of life). I really want the BCM 11.5 inch upper they have as that extra 1 inch gives me a hair bit better reliability and BCM makes some serious "go to war" stuff. I just think they're priced themselves out of the market in an arena that has had the price floor dropped out from under them.

oh, and be prepared to play with buffer weights with the 10.5 inchers. I find that with the 9-10.5 inch uppers and depending on the barrel's gas port size you very well could run anything from a carbine buffer, an H buffer (which is the MOST likely) or even an H2 buffer. The first 10.5 build I did it took 3 buffers before I finally settled on an H buffer

I haven't shot it much, but I like the BCM. My brother had one on his, which is what caused me to get this one... it works nicely.

That upper I got is really nothing fancy, but it works. Sounds like yours will be much nicer.
