I tried to watch Project Hail Mary... only made it through about 90 min before I had to cut loose. Couldn't do it.

Also, watched Arctic this past weekend. We'd just slogged our way through a day where the heat index hit nearly 110-degrees. I read that the DC metro area was, on that day, hotter than 99% of land locations on earth. . So, we did some research and found a film that takes place entirely in the snow.

Arctic is a decent watch. Wouldn't say it was terrible or phenomenal. Certainly made for some fun in-movie comments.

If you've watched it, then you'll understand... I think the movie would have been even better if the chopper seen in the film's final moments hadn't returned.

It was the human - alien decrypting language in about 5 minutes routine.

I was already kind of iffy on the film but was settling in, right when that sequence happened. It just got way too hokey for me. Took my head out of it.

But Rocky was just so cute!
I hear your point. A lot more fiction than science going on in this one.
I had the wrong impression of this movie from the trailers. For what it was, it was pretty ok for me though.

Edit: lol, the site filter got me! There’s no sock mending allowed!

I know I’m in the minority on this… the movie seems to have rave reviews and high praise. I went into it blind… not knowing what it was about.

Maybe I’ll give it another shot, but usually when I cut bait on a film, it has a tendency to float away, never to be seen again.

At PG-13 it’s definitely a solid feel good movie that’s probably also fine for the kiddos, so the popularity makes sense.

Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure the marketing department is working hard to bring on the Rocky merch for this year’s holiday selling season!
