Let's get this rolling! What's the last movie you watched?

A few days ago I dug deep into the past and watched Lethal Weapon 2. What a classic!

I just watched Jack Reacher, I went in with low expectations and actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

The first or second?

I need to give that one a whirl! I enjoyed the first one... spotty reviews have kept me from the second!

It's good to see this thread again! At the end of the day movies and music is the meat and taters of why we're here. Last movie we watched was Lion and it was great. It's easy to see why it was nominated for so many awards.

I took Juli to the theater to see Beauty and the Beast. Better than I expected but not something I would have gone to see for myself.

I've heard that B&B is a great film... my kids went to see and loved it. Definitely has captured my attention... let's be honest, though... it's hard to go wrong with Disney. They don't make a lot of bad ;-)

You have to love it when you find good, seldom-viewed releases in your collection! These had been in the stacks for a while, and I figured they had stayed there for good reason. Not so! Turns out I just needed to be in the right mood. The Equalizer was as suspenseful as it was long (132 min). Fearless kept it's action-packed promise tethered with philosophy. I also didn't expect much in the way of soundtrack, but both films delivered sufficient bass and convincing surround effects to make me take notice several times throughout each.

Revisited an older title last night and watched Avatar. It's hard to believe that movie is eight years old already. I also picked up Pacific Rim in 4K UHD so we'll be watching that tonight.

It is hard to believe 8 yrs has passed. How did it hold up?

Pacific Rim should be interesting... if I'm not mistaken it's been given the Dolby Atmos treatment?

Star Wars: Rogue One.
Like many who have reviewed this movie, the movie starts up a little confusing. It's kind like starting a movie 15 minutes in and being like what's going on. I'm not sure why they are choosing to start the movies like this. They would be better received if there was like a 10 minute quick recap of were they are picking up from the last movie.
Either way once I started to get the hang of who was who it was a decent movie.
Certainly some stellar graphics....and it was nice to see a certain walking vehicle/ machine make a bit of a cameo. Definitely a 5/5 for picture and sound, 4/5 for storyline.

Avatar has held up well but Pacific Rim definitely shows you how far things have come. It's not the greatest movie but my oh my it's an assault on the senses. If you can turn your brain off at the door it's a treat. Amazing colors and that Atmos track is outstanding.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I know I know....but I love it and the sound was very well done. Also...calm down, but the new 3D Titanic, this is one of the best re-works of a movie I have seen. 3D is so very apropos and never over bearing. The sound was redone as well and is top of the pops, if anyone remembers that saying.

One of the funniest movies ever made. If I'm needing a good laugh Bridesmaids, The Hangover, or Wedding Crashers always delivers.

I feel the same way about Super Bad.... so funny. Have you watched Bad Moms? Not as good as Bridesmaids, but similar humor...

Yeah, Super Bad is a good one too. I have seen Bad Moms but it wasn't my favorite.

DR. STRANGE really enjoyed it. Another well done Marvel Film.

NO ESCAPE was more of a B-film or made for tv film in my opinion. Couldn't really take serious the acting, and the storyline was less than believable.

Watched The Founder last night. It's a very good story about the rise of McDonald's and some of the cut throat deals that happened along the way.

Hmm... haven't heard of that one. Is it recent?

Yes, it came out last week. It's worth checking out if you're into the "based on a true story" type movies.

It's on the list!

Split is a really good film that I highly recommend.
