Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

A Working Man is just more Jason Statham doing what Jason Statham does. I’d say it’s on the same level of Beekeeper. “Man on a mission” and lots of action. It may land better for you, but it also could be just about the same as Beekeeper, too.

War Machine is like Transformers and Predator combined, however I think it just doesn’t work. Maybe it’s Alan Richtson as the lead… although I REALLY like him as Jack Reacher in the Reacher series.

I’ve been curious about Thanksgiving, myself. Horror movies have been a bit of a miss more often than not though, so I’ve been hesitant to watch a lot. That’s probably mostly me, though, as I feel like I’ve become a lot tougher critic of the Horror genre in the last 5+ years.

Hmmm... well, maybe I should give it a shot.

I agree with you on horror... when it's well executed, I love it. But it certainly seems to stumble in the final act more often than not.

Yes! Weapons was fantastic. Really, really enjoyed it and have been recommended to watch Barbarians now. I just need to get around it, though I have other movies in the queue that already just keeps piling up.

Yep!! I have 53 movies discs that I have bought and have yet to watch…

Just when I make some headway and watch a bunch of movies, a sale happens and I buy more!

Granted, the last few months I have been doing a lot better, the number HAS gone down, despite more being added. I was at 76 unwatched discs a couple months ago. So I am actually making a dent!

I have little yellow dots that I stick on the spine of the disc jacket. That's the way I mark things that have been unwatched.

I like that visual cue. I should do that or something like it. Right now I keep a notes file on my ipad/iphone, but as convenient as it is, it’s not as easy as just looking at the wall of movies and seeing which ones I still need to watch. The thing that is beneficial is that I can keep it split up into categories, like; movies my wife will watch with me, net new titles, and upgraded discs of movies I’ve already seen. Maybe I’ll blend both solutions…
