Alright, so this is a warning/watch post:
A few nights ago I watched a french horror film called "Martyrs." Its a film that slots into this extreme horror genre from France.
Uh... wow. It's extreme, alright. Extreme levels of torture and graphic violence on full display.
Some call this the ultimate horror movie, and after some reflection, I can see the genius in the story. But, if I'm being honest, it's way too violent to recommend (unless you like that kind of thing).
Anyone have a take on this one?

I need to give this a try. This is weird to say, but I've never loved a Guillermo del Toro film. And I don't know why! Nothing against the guy - in fact, I know little about him. Of the films (I can remember), they've not landed right to me.

I watched this flick earlier this year and I could not remember it so I watched it again last night. I started to remember bits and pieces of it as I watched.
I watch it every year or two...about time to watch it again. Nice thing about getting old.... we can watch a movie ag a in and sometimes will swear we never watched it but always wanted to, and the wife says we just watched it a few months ago. Lol
