Good points jbrax. I was looking at the pioneer for the same price and trying to figure out the differences.i know nothing about the pioneer reliability though.

Hmm…I was looking at the Yamaha for the same price. At this budget I'm thinking the target audience won't be constantly upgrading and will leave the setup in place for awhile.

I was looking to see if it had the phone app. Could not tell. The phone app is great when watching HT in the dark.

You are correct. This price range your probably not thinking about upgrading right away.

I know we are splitting hairs again but I love the phone app. I never really use the avr remote anymore.

I think I'm okay with it... that Denon has a great price point.
You guys concerned about it's power? 70W per... we're going to need super sensitive speakers.

I'm not sure with this budget you're going to get much more power? I hear those Klipsch speakers are pretty easy to drive.

You make a good point. The difference between 70 and 80 is negligible (and hard to know what real world output is).

For the speakers. We need to look for some klipsch on sale. Easy speakers to drive and I think for HT they are hard to beat especially with a entry level, budget avr. with enough eyes and the knowledge here who know what brand might turn up.

I dont think you can beat the quality for the money. Ive herd these in person (my brother owns the towers) and they are great.

I don't disagree with Tony. Those Pioneer speakers are phenomenal (great sounding and great bang for the buck). Would they suffer, tho, with a 70W per receiver?

I'm not sure we can do a Klipsch package with the remaining budget. I'll dig around and see what I can find.

Pioneer is such a good bang/buck speaker package... maybe it's worth bumping up the AVR $100 to get a little more juice flowing?

My brother is driving the pioneers with my old Yamaha rxv995. Its rated at 100wats per ch and it gets really loud and pounds out the bass without distortion. I do think 70 Watts should be enough.
