Laptop with combined mic\phone out sound card calibration

I have new HP Laptop with combined mic \ phone out jack. I tried loop connection to calibrate the sound card and failed. Please give me the step-by-step instructions how to it right. Or maybe I need the external USB sound card to make REW measurements. Please advise me what model of USB card to buy. Thanks a lot for any advise.

IMO Loopback is not necessary. Way down the line if you need it for particular precision work, you will know.
The popular USB Mics cannot provide Loopback. The PMIK-1 did and I believe the little MicW has a splitter which will make it happen. https://www.irishacoustics.com/forum/measurement-and-control/acoustic-measurement-primer
