(August 22, 2026) JL Audio’s Primacy tower speakers delivered one of the more memorable listening experiences at Audio Advice Live 2026. And that’s saying something, because the show’s rooms were packed with serious gear this year. Primacy stood out not only because the T6 towers carry a $90,000 per pair price tag, but because the speakers, as a system, sounded ridiculously good. Transparent, controlled, and deeply impressive through the bass region, they were easily one of the best demos I heard at the show.
Primacy represents an interesting chapter for JL Audio under Garmin's control, positioned as a premium home audio system that integrates loudspeakers, amplification, digital signal processing, networking, and room optimization into a single, tightly controlled platform. The lineup includes the full-size T6 three-way tower loudspeaker and the smaller S3 two-way stand-mount, which was also played at the event. Both are crafted to deliver high-end sound without the clutter and complexity of a traditional separates-based system.
The towers themselves are visually striking, built around a single cast, precision-machined aluminum-alloy enclosure with integrated bracing and woofer ports. It’s the kind of cabinet construction that feels less like a conventional speaker box and more like a serious piece of industrial design. One of the coolest moments during our demo session came when the front baffle was unlatched and lowered, revealing the speaker's interior and giving attendees a look at the internal architecture and build quality hidden behind the polished exterior.
While I didn’t conduct a formal interview with JL Audio, the company’s team was kind enough to let me mic them up and record their entire Primacy presentation (yes, watch it and you'll see the speaker opened). The full session ran close to 40 minutes with both explanation and demo material. We can’t include the music playback in our video for digital rights reasons, but the presentation itself is well worth watching if you want to understand what JL Audio is doing with this platform and why Primacy enters as such a serious statement product.
