Honestly, it should be the future. The ultimate scenario would find a speaker where you could swap out key components (like the DAC) for a new and improved model. THAT would be cool.

I don't think I would want most of those sensitive components embedded in speakers... And imagine the pain trouble shooting and replacing things that go bump in the night... Sure they might be solid state and they are not "rack and roll" read MIL Spec ruggedized... I probably should have taken his warning and not watched... Its the old centralized vs distributed arguments... Six of one and half dozen of the other... Pros and cons of each...
