I know i am not the only one struggling with REW, WINDOWS10 and ASIO driver... :)
But if I have a spare laptop: ACER ASPIRE 5739G-874G50Bn from 2009, NVIDIA M520 graphic, DOLBY HOME THEATRE , NVIDI HD AUDIO -> What version of WINDOWS would be best to install to make make this work properly???
Today its WINDOWS 10 HOME with updates installed. Tried to delete all drivers for sound systems except those HD and NVIDIA that i think i must have installed. OR does it not make any difference what version of WINDOWS i install, that is: it's not WINDOWS actually causing all my headache!? I do have a spare ssd drive i easily can switch to and so therefore I would appreciate if someone can give me a hint of what might work for me starting from scratch?! Is slightly annoying having to "reset driver" prior to any change in output doing calibration on my 7.2.4 system.! Any hint or tips would be much appreciated! MANY THANSK IN ADVANCE! ;)

I see folks having issues with this all the time. I’ve used ASIO4ALL on two widows laptops with REW and never had a problem. Windows 7 and Windows 10. Probably just lucky.

Are you using HDMI?
Does it work with the Java drivers?

If you post screenshots of REW preferences and the ASIO control panel, someone might spot something.

I use hdmi to do the individual speakers. It works as far as I know after a hanfull of tests using JAVA..
Tried using those suggestions I have found here: disabling intel driver, check for apps that migh use mic or sound card, searched my computer for any links to dolby and/or atmos..
I was thinking of doing, fixing, a spare disk and installing windows 7 or 8.
Will try and post pics of my settings and hopefully there's something I missed.
Yes I understand that it's a big problem for lots of users when searching her in this forum......
Don't no if using a simple older laptop or a new high end will make any difference!?!?!!
Would love to have a setup or computer working properly...

The combination of ASIO4All and Nvidia cards/drivers have had a history of issues with REW. You can try FlexASIO instead of ASIO4All to see if that resolves the issue for you. You should uninstall ASIO4All before installing FlexASIO.

if using a simple older laptop
on older computers, drawing graphs can be slow. At the beginning of the REW installation, you will be asked whether to use graphics hardware acceleration. If the video card is weak, answer 'do not use'. And my opinion is that windows 7 is better than windows 10.

I will start my fault finding testing the FLEX drivers instead....

Next step will be to config a disc with WINDOWS 7 and se if that makes a change to stable operation!
It's relatively easy to change hard drive on my computer, so making a "special" rew disc might be something worth trying out! :)
