House Curve Progress

So far the house curve feature has been the perfect solution to get my speakers to 'fit' my room. The 2db curve downwards starting at 1khz took the bulk of the brightness and harshness out of my room.
I'm now down to fine tuning. The next step in my journey is to figure out how to address what I think may be a touch of brightness in vocals and guitar in the left speaker only. I may be also hearing the odd 's' or edge to vocals.

It would be nice to see original graphs with no EQ for comparison.

Might want to give a careful listen with familiar source material. I’ve found that mismatched filters above ~300Hz does weird things to the imaging. But that was with a 1/3-octave EQ. Might not be an issue with a parametric, but I’d think careful listening with the EQ in and out might be a good idea. I would expect the 800 – 4 kHz range to be the most critical.

Here's left speaker only with no filters and the current filters. The sub was included with the filters so that explains the sub 100Hz difference.

Just in case......and I have seen a Sonarworks video with the mic in hand!....... A human body near the mic will have quite a disturbing effect on the soundfield. B&K state up to 6dB around 400Hz, or 4dB around 600 Hz. Anyway, mic stand, at least 2 Metres distance.

I can try that. The one of the many nice things about REW is it has a delay function before taking a measurement. This would allow one to get out of the way.

Onto the next topic. Today I’m trying a new filter on my left speaker. 833hz -5.0 and a Q of 2.0.

Soft reminds me of the harman curve. Music 1 catches my eye because as much progress as I've made using REW to customize my house curve I feel I might be still a little bright or harsh in the midrange.

What struck me is how it looks like the spinorama response of my B&W 804D2 speakers! It give me an explanation why those speakers don't have an as flat spinorama as possible knowing that this company of course can achieve this like Revel
