Hey everyone, it's great to see some friendly faces populating the Member Introduction section. It certainly bodes well for the future of this new forum!
Just a brief intro: I'm a writer that has a love affair with AV gear and the industry that makes it all happen. I especially like gear that falls in the affordable category as I'm a big believer that the affordable can sound stellar when deployed correctly (that isn't to say I don't like a great high-end system... I love listening to super high-end systems)
. I'm also fascinated by the machine that is the AV industry and greatly value the the contacts I've made over the years. It's certainly an interesting entity full of some friendly characters!
My favorite films range from comedies like Caddyshack to action/adventure films like Hanna... and 90s cheese like The Rock. I also have a soft spot for independent alt-rock and techno from the 80s and early 90s, but have found myself enjoying classic rock more and more as the 70s and 80s distance themselves from modern day.
When I'm not knee deep in AV, I love pushing myself in the gym... hiking the great outdoors with my family... watching baseball... and playing pinball. In fact, collecting and playing pinball machines from the 80s and 90s is an obsession of my mine that rivals my love of home theater. Not easy having those two diseases!
