I watched it and will continue. Not sure if I’m that enthused about it yet.

It was renewed for 2nd season.

From hollywoodreporter,

has just renewed House of the Dragon for a second season.

The move came relatively quickly following the series premiere of Dragon on Sunday, which delivered 10 million viewers overnight — an HBO record for a series opener and roughly on par with the premiere of Game of Thrones season six. Now HBO reports that in the days since the show’s premiere, the first episode’s viewership has climbed to 20 million viewers in the U.S. across linear, on demand and HBO Max platforms.

Have only seen the premier thus far, but that's exactly how I felt.
I'll also keep going for now. We'll see. :dontknow:

We watched episodes 2&3 last night and while we were happy with it, we followed it up with episode 2 of Rings of Power and that did this series no justice whatsoever. The pacing, the cinematography, the writing... everything is just off compared to RoP at this point.

My neighbor and I are huge GoT fans and yet this series is throwing some serious disappointment at us so far.

This seems to be another GoT The Long Night all over again. I’ve read that the best way to watch this series at the moment is to not watch it in HDR. I can neither confirm nor deny it as I had surgery a couple days ago and I can’t get around the house all that well just yet.

We rewatched some of The Long Night a couple weeks ago via HBO Max stream and were amazed at how much better it looked once it was remastered. Why can’t this GoT/HoD company get it right the first time?

“If you can see it, you’re not watching it properly!”

I didn't think the HDR PQ was that bad and have been watching on the JVC RS400 pixel shifter. Perhaps the show is so blah I haven't paid enough attention to the picture :)

I’m echoing some comments I’ve seen from John Archer at Forbes and others. Vincent Teoh measured a scene from episode 7 (we’re at 4 IIRC) and it measured less than the recommended standard for HDR viewing.

I’d bet just about anything that this will be remastered before it’s put out on disc.

So, I tested it out on the Sony upstairs. Yes, it was incredibly dim and hard to make out the dark scenes. No issues on the projector in a light controlled room.

Could it be some of the awesome JVC tonemapping at work on your PJ?

I would think it would still have the issues considering it is below the recommended bias lighting level for HDR viewing. But if it works don’t fix it!

Could it be some of the awesome JVC tonemapping at work on your PJ?

More than likely. Especially if it’s professionally calibrated.

We watched 4&5 this last week. It's tough to stay engaged with this series.
