has just renewed House of the Dragon for a second season.
The move came relatively quickly following the series premiere of Dragon on Sunday, which delivered 10 million viewers overnight — an HBO record for a series opener and roughly on par with the premiere of Game of Thrones season six. Now HBO reports that in the days since the show’s premiere, the first episode’s viewership has climbed to 20 million viewers in the U.S. across linear, on demand and HBO Max platforms.
I watched it and will continue. Not sure if I’m that enthused about it yet.
This seems to be another GoT The Long Night all over again. I’ve read that the best way to watch this series at the moment is to not watch it in HDR. I can neither confirm nor deny it as I had surgery a couple days ago and I can’t get around the house all that well just yet.
We rewatched some of The Long Night a couple weeks ago via HBO Max stream and were amazed at how much better it looked once it was remastered. Why can’t this GoT/HoD company get it right the first time?
“If you can see it, you’re not watching it properly!”
So, I tested it out on the Sony upstairs. Yes, it was incredibly dim and hard to make out the dark scenes. No issues on the projector in a light controlled room.

I mean I don’t know what kinda magical witchcraft is going on inside that thing but the picture looks fantastic!Could it be some of the awesome JVC tonemapping at work on your PJ?

Same. We don't binge, but we like to do 2 episodes in a sitting. Not yet. We may this week if we finish Fallout.
To add to this, we don't usually like to watch just one episode so waiting is our only option at this time.
That pretty much sums it up for me as well.I enjoyed S1 enough to watch S2
We don't pay for any streaming services that aren't part of a bundle that we would already have, and we don't have cable or satellite, so we have MAX from our cell phones, AppleTV+ from our full iCloud bundle, and Amazon Prime from, well, Amazon Prime. We have an antenna with PLEX as a DVR, but broadcast TV is only as good as it needs to be to serve as an advertisement for the networks' streaming services, so it's slim pickings for TV shows, outside of AppleTV+, for the most part. That pretty much sums it up for me as well.
