For me I still love my Onkyo TX SR 805 but I'm quite pleased with my Denon AVR X4200W.

My Denon 3805, outdated but just can't bring myself to get rid of it.

I don't own one yet, but I will within the next several months, and based on what I've read I anticipate the Anthem MRX will be my favorite receiver ever. Does that count? ;)

I still have my old faithful Onkyo 805 too... sitting right here in front of me in my cabinet below my 65" Panasonic Plasma set. Been there for a LONG time and still holding up just fine. However, I have to confess that I like my Denon 4300 better. They just get better and better every new release, while Onkyo seems to have slipped backwards after shedding Audyssey. I understand that Emotiva is coming out with a new receiver that will have enough channels to handle Atmos and include Dirac Live... that will be my new favorite receiver.

Ya, that 805 has been my trusted receiver in my main system for years now. But with Atmos and DTSX im thinking it will be time soon to replace it although I will likely put it in my livingroom and get rid of my Sherwood Newcastle R972

It's really hard to say which has been my favorite. The Marantz I currently have sounds the best with music I'd say. They've all sounded good with movies and any perceived improvement might be attributed to speaker and sub upgrades. The old Yamaha was a tank and although no longer residing in my home is still running today. The Onkyo was great while it worked but the HDMI board (twice) and customer service was a disappointment. So I guess I'll go with the Marantz due to the ease of Airplay and it's musicality.

My Denon 4520 has been wonderful. Sad to say I will have to upgrade it at sometime, not due to failure but purely due to technology improvements (Ultra HD / 4K/ HDR). I never thought the day would come when I would ponder getting rid of expensive equipment for a reason other than it breaking down. Technology sure does change quickly these days. I mean how many years did it take to go from VHS to DVD? And in the last 12 years we have went from DVD to Blu-Ray to Ultra HD Blu-Ray.

I liked my Denon 3808ci as it just worked, I gave it to a friend and it still works at his house. I replaced it with a Denon 4520ci and most things work very very well and it sounds pretty good too. Since I have had several problems with the thing, it has been to Denon for repairs twice now and needs to go for a third time to cure a pop when I change tracks on discs, I cannot be happy. My older Interga Pre/pro rocks movies and music but is slow when changing settings or inputs, the hdmi handshake is not all that reliable. I dont know what to do next but I think Sonnie may have a good idea above.

I have a soft spot for an old Pioneer Elite VSX21-THX that I used in my theater room many moons ago. I still use it today in some review setups.

I'm mighty curious about the prospects of this Emotiva AVR. Certainly has my attention!

I loved my Yamaha cr2020 receiver when I had it. It was great to use the class a amp for my Audio Technica electrostatic headphones which ran off the speaker terminalsystem on the Yamaha.

As far as Newer AV it would have to be the Pioneer Elite I had about 10 years ago. Favorite preamp was my old Classe Dr6, followed by my current Yamaha cx5100.

I'm not sure why the Elites don't get more internet love... IMO, they're fantastic receivers.
