(June 30, 2026) Dirac continues to broaden the reach of its room correction technologies, this time by bringing its most advanced acoustic optimization platform to one of the most common components in an audio enthusiast's system: a computer. The company has announced that Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) is now available through Dirac Live Processor, the newly renamed evolution of its Dirac Live Room Correction Suite for PCs and Macs.
The announcement is notable because it opens the door to ART without requiring hardware that has the technology built in. Instead, Dirac Live Processor functions as a virtual audio processor, applying room correction to audio on a PC or Mac before it reaches an amplifier, receiver, or powered speakers. As a result, many existing audio systems can now take advantage of Dirac's most advanced room optimization technology without purchasing a compatible receiver or processor.
The software also marks a consolidation of Dirac's room correction ecosystem. Dirac Live Processor now supports the company's complete suite of technologies, including Dirac Live Room Correction, Dirac Live Bass Control, and Dirac Live Active Room Treatment. Together, they allow users to measure their listening environment, correct frequency response and timing issues, optimize bass integration between speakers and subwoofers, and reduce room resonances and lingering sound that can blur imaging and impair clarity.
Installation is designed to be straightforward. Users simply connect a measurement microphone to their computer, follow the guided measurement process, and allow the software to analyze the room before generating correction filters tailored to the system and listening space. Because Dirac Live Processor supports VST, VST3, AAX, and AU plug-in formats, it can also be integrated into compatible digital audio workstations and media players, making it suitable for both music enthusiasts and studio applications.
As we've covered in recent weeks, this announcement mirrors a broader expansion of Active Room Treatment across the home audio market. Dirac has added ART support to products from manufacturers including AudioControl, Denon, Marantz, miniDSP, Monoprice, StormAudio, and, most recently, Tonewinner. In this case, users need not wait as ART for the Dirac Live Processor platform is available beginning today, June 30, 2026.
Existing users of the older Dirac Live Room Correction Suite will automatically be transitioned to the Dirac Live Processor together with their current licenses and settings. New licenses can be purchased with an optional 14-day free trial at www.dirac.com.
