(June 25, 2026) Audio Advice continues to expand its national footprint, this time with the acquisition of one of South Florida's best-known specialty audio retailers. The Raleigh, North Carolina-based company announced it has acquired Sound Components, a Miami institution that's served audio, video, home theater, and automation customers since 1974.

For longtime enthusiasts in South Florida, Sound Components is a familiar name. Over the past five decades, the company has built a reputation for custom home theater installations, high-performance two-channel audio systems, home automation, and personalized customer service for both residential and commercial clients. Rather than folding the business into a new operation, Audio Advice says Sound Components will continue serving customers from its longtime South Miami location with its existing staff remaining in place.

The acquisition also brings a significant physical expansion as the Miami showroom will more than double in size, creating additional space to demonstrate home theater systems, high-end audio, lighting, motorized shades, and smart home technologies. Customers will also gain access to Audio Advice's expanded product portfolio, nationwide design resources, online tools, and technical expertise.

"For over five decades, Sound Components has delivered superb audio, video, and personalized service to our clients," said Bill Petters, president of Sound Components. "I've known the Audio Advice team for decades. Their national reputation, customer service, software systems, and worldwide YouTube, social media, and website following are best in class. These resources and access to additional product lines will enable our team to bring even more value to our loyal customer base."

The move continues an active period of growth for Audio Advice. Following its acquisition of The Sound Room in St. Louis, the company has expanded into Nashville, Las Vegas, and now Miami, steadily building a broader national presence while maintaining a focus on premium audio, video, home theater, smart home, and commercial AV solutions.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sound Components into the Audio Advice family," said Scott Newnam, CEO of Audio Advice. "I've admired Bill and the team at Sound Components since I met them nearly two decades ago. Our shared value of excellence and passion for delivering happiness make this a natural partnership. Together, we will continue to raise the bar for what customers can expect from an audio, video, and automation company."

The timing of this deal comes just weeks ahead of one of the company's biggest annual events. Audio Advice Live returns to Raleigh from August 7 through August 9, bringing together more than 60 demonstration rooms, over a dozen Dolby Atmos theaters, educational Deep Dive sessions, product showcases, and live entertainment. The event is a premier opportunity for enthusiasts to experience high-end audio and home theater systems from dozens of leading manufacturers, all in a single location.

Early Bird tickets remain available through August 6, with single-day admission priced at $25 and three-day passes available for $45. Ticket prices increase slightly during the event weekend. For additional information or to purchase tickets, visit Audio Advice Live.
