So I have been reading on causes of pre-ringing, learned there are different types of equalization processes, and apparently only linear-phase eq can cause pre-ringing, I don't use linear phase eq, this must be a measurement error right? I listened to some samples of how pre ringing sounds and I hear nothing of the sort on my system, maybe because it's simply not there?

Also regarding your question about RTA: I measured between same four positions I used for subs measurement, maybe 70cmx70cm area. But that will not be used for eq purposes, I just experimented with microphone at different heights.

True pre-ringing is a reversed copy of whatever you are trying to correct occurring before the main impulse. I uploaded an example into Youtube some time ago:

You can also get a form of IIR "pre-ringing" if the drivers are not time aligned properly.
