I will not sign up. If the series gets good reviews, I will check it out once it is on blu ray/dvd.

Can't even watch the trailer, Canadians are blocked. Found it on YouTube and it doesn't really show much. I like him as an actor and reading the reviews of who is involved in making the series it should be a winner. I've really liked the Discovery series now that they got into the story.

Yeah, I also like the actors. Hopefully it will do well and go to dvd/blu ray soon.

I've been wondering about this myself. I'm a big Star Trek fan but have absolutely zero desire to sign up for another streaming service, I really wonder how some of these "stand alone" services are going to survive.

According to cnbc back in Feb of this year..

• [*]CBS announced Thursday it has reached its streaming goal of 8 million subscribers nearly two years ahead of schedule.
  [*]The company raised its goal for 2022 from 16 million to 25 million streaming subscribers.

So, it does look like streaming is very profitable for CBS..

There goes another couple of hard earned bucks! Had a feeling it would turn out this way though.
