I'm a total novice when it comes to "shooting the room". I bought a nice measurement mic, but it's XLR, not USB.
Our church meets there each Sunday. My Media Team sets up and tears down the sound system each week.
I have written a Procedures Manual for setting things up each week, so we're fairly consistent in audio set up.

I want to use REW (or a more appropriate software) to balance out the audio in a gymnasium.
What I have read on the website indicates using your laptop computer with a USB mic.
Is there a way to use REW on a laptop to calibrate a separate sound system?

You can create a downloadable file of a 20hz-20,000hz sweep. Then play it on the church system. REMEMBER to include the beginning and ending timing chirps!

Thanks, guys. So, let's see if I get this right.
1) I play a 20hz-20,000hz sweep from my laptop, through the P.A. system.
2) I use my Focusrite interface and my measuring mic on the laptop to listen to the sweep.
3) The REW software indicates how the audio should be adjusted.
4) Use the sound system Equalizer to shape the sound coming through the system until the desired stability is achieved.

That's enough to pint me in the right direction.

Thanx, again, skid00 and sam_adams!
