Be the Judge: The Ultimate Home Theater Room Review Thread

The TV is too high also.

Alright AV NIRVANA... here's a really creative use of space. It's fun to see what someone can coax from a bonus room or an odd-sized space. A lot like what we see here :T

So, what do you see here that you like? If you had two hours to move some things around, what would you do?

Sub most likely needs to go to the back and that center channel is too low. Looks like a comfy room thou. :)

Ya, center channel is sitting on the carpet floor so already fails there. main left and right speakers are tucked to far into the corner and reflection of sound off those walls would be an issue. A white ceiling is not a great choice either. The brown leather chair is sitting kind of strange in the room as well.

I have to say, on those couple photos with the really nice, modern contemporary design, I love it. I get it, the couch was facing the wrong way, and there's a glare on the TV. But there's a glare on my TV too, because it's not the primary theater room. :) I have a very contemporary home with big windows etc., and my TV isn't optimal. My dedicated theater, however....

Unfortunately, most people don't have the space for a dedicated room but they should at least do some tweaking to get better quality picture but then again there is the WAF to factor in. lol. :)

I agree with Tony...that brown couch is taking up a lot of real estate over there.

I like your take, thrill. I agree... sometimes the room and it’s function/design needs to supersede AV. That’s certainly the case in my living room!

The only time it really bothers me is when the sunset hits the screen just right and messes up my Wheel of Fortune viewing.

Sitting on the brown couch would drive me crazy... just because I would fixate in the fact that the experience on the main couch was probably exponentially better!

The title of this thread seems to be missing some words at the beginning: How to not set up ...
With few exceptions it appears to be more of a riddle / game like: Find five faults. (OK, I know. Sometimes one has to settle with what's actually available.)

True... we all deal in the world of non-ideals.... some of these rooms have a ton going for them, tho, eh?
