(January 5, 2021) With 2020 in the rearview mirror, AV NIRVANA is kicking off a fresh new year with an exciting announcement. Audiolense is migrating its official User Forum to AV NIRVANA and can now be found within the “Audio Video Processing, Setup & Environment” section of the site.
Audiolense, available for purchase on JuiceHiFi.com, is an enthusiast-grade room correction software package that includes digital crossover functionality. Currently offered in its sixth iteration, Audiolense has three different tiers of performance. Audiolense 2.0 (€165 or approximately $200 US) gives owners access to frequency correction for stereo arrangements, Audiolense Surround (€250 or $305) delivers frequency correction, bass management, and time alignment for multichannel systems, while Audiolense XO (€390 or $480) offers frequency and time domain correction along with customizable crossover settings for stereo and multichannel setups.
In addition to frequency correction, Audiolense addresses impulse response in the time domain utilizing True Time Domain correction. This provides the foundation needed to deliver notable sonic improvements in both detail and dynamic presentation. Using relatable language, Bernt unpacks the technical nature of these topics to make them accessible and understandable.
Filters created with Audiolense can be used with various products that carry DSP audio convolution plug-ins compatible with .wav files. Those include both Roon and JRiver, as well as several professional products. Also, Audiolense recently released a proprietary convolver, which typically sells for €120 ($150) but is currently on sale for €70 ($86) through the end of January.
While we’re rolling out the red carpet for the Audiolense community, we also wanted to introduce Bernt Rønningsbakk, who will be active in the user forum. By day, Bernt is a full-time associate professor at the BI Norwegian Business School and a married father of three. By night, he’s the driving force behind Audiolense. According to Bernt, Audiolense was conceived in 2006 as an affordable alternative to other FIR-based sound correction solutions on the market. It’s since realized significant technical growth on its path to becoming the tool it is today. Bernt says the software’s popularity has also been on the rise, which is the icing on the cake for a creator that remains passionate about his product.
