Primed to make its world debut at High End Vienna 2026, the new Model Four is a three-way acoustic suspension loudspeaker designed to slot neatly between the Model Three and Model Five. At $1,999.98 per pair, it combines the compact footprint and approachable size of the former with much of the driver and crossover architecture that helped make the latter incredibly desirable.
What's particularly interesting is that KLH isn't pitching the Model Four as simply a smaller Model Five. Instead, the company is positioning it as a solution for listeners who want genuine floorstanding performance but don't have the space or desire for large speaker cabinets dominating the room.
That focus on real-world living spaces is evident throughout the design.
The Model Four uses an 8" acoustic suspension woofer, a dedicated 4" midrange driver, and a 1" aluminum dome tweeter in a sealed cabinet measuring just 8.25" deep before the included riser is attached. The wide-baffle design draws inspiration from KLH's larger Model Seven and is intended to allow placement closer to walls without many of the compromises commonly associated with rear-ported loudspeakers.
The speaker also incorporates KLH's three-position Acoustic Balance Control switch, a feature dating back to the company's classic designs from the 1960s. The control allows listeners to adjust midrange and high-frequency balance to better match room acoustics and personal preference.
Performance specifications are impressive for a design of this size. KLH rates the Model Four from 46Hz to 20kHz (±3dB), with low-frequency extension reaching 35Hz at -10dB. Sensitivity is rated at 88dB, maximum output is listed at 108dB, and power handling is specified at 150 watts continuous with 600-watt peak capability.
"Model Four represents exactly where KLH is headed: honoring the acoustic principles that made this brand stand out while designing products for how people actually live and listen today," said KLH Audio CEO Scott Hagen. "This is not a bookshelf speaker, nor is it simply a smaller Model Five. It is a distinctive, full-range acoustic-suspension loudspeaker, meticulously built to deliver the natural, controlled and room-friendly sound that defines KLH in a form that fits more homes, rooms and listeners."
The Model Four will be offered in English Walnut, Black Ash, and White Oak finishes, each paired with a knit grille and KLH's signature slanted riser base. Like other members of the Model Collection, it carries a 10-year warranty.
Listeners attending High End Vienna can hear the Model Four in person at KLH's suite throughout the show (suite #1415 at Meliá Vienna). The speaker is scheduled to arrive in September 2026 at a retail price of $999.99 each or $1,999.98 per pair.
